Monica (also known around town as DJ Transcend)  has been passionate about music since her earliest memories. She always had her walkman with her, and music served as her constant companion throughout life’s various phases. She possesses a deep fascination for the power of music and its ability to touch lives across the globe. Monica believes that with just three chords, music can transport anyone back to a specific moment in time. This perspective guides her when she’s assessing the crowd and selecting the perfect songs to move each person in the room.

In 2009, Monica relocated to New York City amidst a recession. She initially worked as a bartender and restaurant manager, which provided her with invaluable experience in curating the ideal musical atmosphere to complement the energy of the crowd. She also ensured the seamless flow of operations and the satisfaction of all patrons. Monica embarked on her DJing journey in 2016, diving headfirst into private events, including birthdays, Christmas parties, retail events, and fitness functions. Notably, Monica has a strong presence in the fitness industry, with her primary fitness gig being at 305 Fitness, where she combines her love for dance and music to help individuals achieve their fitness goals.

Monica’s career has afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with some of Manhattan’s most esteemed companies, including Tao Group at Moxy Hotel and One Group Hospitality at STK Steakhouse, among others. In addition to her music career, she spent six years as a yoga and meditation teacher, specializing in aerial yoga and vinyasa yoga. Presently, she continues to teach and perform aerial work, and she has recently ventured into combining aerial performance with her DJing skills for special events.

Growing up in a military family, Monica was exposed to various cultures and influences due to her father’s service in the Army. This diverse background has shaped her musical tastes, and she genuinely appreciates every genre, even country and classical music. Her favorite genres include R&B, Old School Hip Hop, Latin, Rock, and House, although she can expertly navigate any genre.

Monica is deeply committed to collaborating with her clients to create a vibrant and energetic atmosphere through music, ensuring that their events exceed all expectations and become memorable experiences.
