Our packages run $1,500 to $3,000. Where you land depends on which DJ you book, whether your date falls in high or low season, and how far we are travelling. That covers five hours of music, all the planning, your meeting with the DJ, and the full equipment setup. Add-ons like uplighting or a photo booth sit on top — book DJ, uplighting and photo booth together and we take $100 off.

Five hours of music, all of the planning, and a meeting with your DJ before the day. On the equipment side you get a full professional setup — QSC (or equivalent) powered speakers and subwoofers, Shure wireless microphones for your ceremony and toasts, and Technics turntables or Pioneer DJ gear — plus two sound system set-ups, so a ceremony in one space and a reception in another are both covered without anyone moving gear mid-event. We always bring backup: speakers, mixers, microphones and computers.

Overtime is $250 per hour and can be prorated, so a short extension costs a fraction of a full hour rather than a whole one. If the dance floor is still packed, just talk to your DJ on the night.

Most couples book 9–18 months out, and peak season — roughly May through October — goes first. If your date is in that window, earlier is better. Dates are held on receipt of a deposit, first come, first served.

Yes. Every package can include ceremony sound, cocktail hour music and full reception DJ and emcee coverage — and because we bring two sound system set-ups, a ceremony in one space and a reception in another are both covered.

Both, and they are the two add-ons people ask about most. Uplighting starts at $500 and washes the room in a colour that matches your palette; we do dance floor lighting too. Our photo booth delivers unlimited high-quality digital images, with props and prints. Book DJ, uplighting and photo booth together and we take $100 off. We can also arrange live musicians for the ceremony, cocktail hour or dinner — curated groups covering any genre.

Corporate events, galas and holiday parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, school and college events — homecomings, formals, graduations — plus sweet sixteens, quinceañeras, birthdays, fundraisers and other private celebrations. We have worked with everyone from trendy fashion lines to professional sports teams.

Yes, and it is a real part of what we do rather than a line on a page. Our DJs include members of the community, and all three of our locations are listed as LGBTQ+ friendly and as transgender safe spaces. We have a page dedicated to it: LGBTQ+ weddings. Tell us the celebration you are picturing and we will build the night around it.

Our DJs are open-format, with catalogs running from 1920s jazz and blues through Motown, 80s new wave, golden-age hip hop and current Top 40. Many have a specialty too — hip hop, funk, Latin, house. Before your date we build out your must-plays and your no-play list, and we stick to it. If a guest requests something on your no-play list, we will not play it without your say-so.

Absolutely. We plan the announcements and introductions with you beforehand so the night flows. Our default is subtle — clear, natural, friendly, and not making ourselves the centre of attention. If you want no announcements at all, that is no problem; if you want a more boisterous emcee, some of our DJs are glad to wear that hat.

Yes. Beat Train Productions carries full liability insurance, and we are happy to send a certificate of insurance straight to your venue on request — most venues ask for one.

We take this seriously: this is not a job where sick days are acceptable, and we make every reasonable effort to make sure it never happens. In a genuine emergency, finding a suitable replacement DJ is our responsibility, not yours — we would handle it and keep you informed.

Dates are booked first come, first served, on receipt of a deposit. If you reach out and come back to us a few days or weeks later there is a decent chance your date is still open — but we cannot hold it without a deposit, so if your date matters, do not wait on it.

Dark or neutral suits, ties or dresses as standard. If your event has a specific dress code or theme, tell us and we will match it.
