We had hired Beat Train for our wedding 9/17/22. After taking their quiz as well as listening to some of the provided mixes we knew Spencer was the clear choice. Spencer was absolutely amazing for the entire process. We met with him at least 3 times to discuss the flow of the wedding, song preferences, and whatever else came up at the time. He ran the sound for our wedding ceremony as well as all of the music for the reception. Spencer has such an easy going, calming nature but you know he is going to be on top of his game. He listened to our spotify playlists ahead of time to get a feel for what we liked as well asked for our particular music preferences. He absolutely killed it when it came time to the reception- people were dancing the entire time. I had SO many guests come up and say what a great DJ he was. Spencer was good about taking requests from the guests and also played these awesome mashups which were a big hit. If we ever needed a DJ again this would be our guy. We highly highly recommend Beat Train and Spencer for any event you have but especially a wedding!
Let me tell you about how much I love Beat Train Productions and Spencer H. — I seriously want to hire them again and again just so I can throw kick ass dance parties all the time. Our music was one of the most important components of our wedding, and the DJ was literally the first vendor I booked, oh, 2 years in advance (like a crazy person).
They came to me on a recommendation from a vendor I love out in Philly (LoveSick Inc!) and had participated in the amazing LoveSick Expo, so I knew they had to be good. Well, they knocked my socks off. First, with the responsiveness and professionalism, second with the music. And OH the music! No gimmicks, no DJ shenanigans, just righteous music. And poor Spencer had a HUGE list of “sweet baby Jesus don’t play these songs” from me, 2 “must play” songs, and the artistic direction of only “make me shake my booty on the dance floor and we’re good”. He certainly accomplished that though, as my wedding photos full of me dancing up a flop-sweat in my wedding gown attest.
The dance floor was only empty when my guests were scarfing cake, because, well, cake. Other than that, it was a dang party. Love Beat Train, I need them to DJ my life.
We had an amazing experience with Beat Train for our wedding in June 2015. After meeting other DJs, they truly stood out. They were quick to respond, reasonably priced and professional – it’s clear they hold themselves to a high standard.
We researched all the DJs they had available and were able to have a meet and greet with Spencer — this gave us insight into his style so we felt even more comfortable booking him. Since we booked pretty far in advance (about a year), we had sporadic contact for a while (which we knew beforehand). Then, about 2 months out from the big day, Spencer sent us a form to fill out which thoroughly assessed all our music taste and preferences, as well as the agenda for the day of the wedding – and who else he may need to connect with. He was awesome about coordinating with our Wedding Day coordinator and photographer, to ensure they were all on the same page.
About a week or two before the wedding, we met again in person to do a run-through of the day and evening. I cannot explain in enough detail the thoughtfulness that went into our music — Spencer truly listened to what we asked for and made it perfect! We still have guests asking about our DJ and raving about the music from the entire day – it’s literally the first thing people remember and speak about. He read the crowd perfectly, knowing when to play something new, old, low key, etc. I couldn’t give a higher recommendation to use Beat Train and Spencer for any event you can hire them for! Awesome experience!
The Beat Train team was truly wonderful to work with when planning and executing our wedding. We originally planned a big (100+ person) event in May, but had to postpone to September, then drastically downsize (18 people) due to COVID. Beat Train worked with us to reschedule and then completely rework our original plan to make it micro wedding friendly. The micro wedding package that Beat Train came up with ended up being exactly what we needed to make for a carefree day.
Spencer was our original choice as DJ and he did not disappoint. He took all of our suggestions (including some that were a bit out there) and put together a unique set of music that was just awesome. There was a little something for all of our quests and we got a number of comments at the end of the night and into the next day about how great the music had been all night.
Beat Train had the best DJ we could have asked for for our November wedding in NH – Spencer knocked it out of the park! I got compliments about how good he was for the cocktail hour – before we even opened up the dance floor. I was so nervous that my guests wouldn’t dance, and he got pregnant ladies and people who told me they weren’t dancing to get up on the floor and party. I couldn’t have anticipated a better turn-out with Spencer. And he was the utmost professional during the process – he met us in Boston to go over everything in detail, was very transparent about his process. If you’re looking for a top-notch DJ company that prides itself on not playing cheesy songs – you’d be stupid not to hire Beat Train, and Spencer. Spencer even went as far as to edit an existing song I wanted to play after the ceremony. He went above and beyond and we couldn’t be happier. Also, we were looking for a DJ who didn’t hog the microphone, and Spencer was just the right amount of DJ – alerting guests with specific happenings during the night but sticking to what he does best. I will tell everyone about Beat Train – they are downright phenomenal – not just as a DJ but throughout the whole process!
We read great reviews and felt confident in our choice of using Beat Train to DJ our wedding. We had high expectations and even those were surpassed by both; Beat Train and our DJ, Spencer. Beat Train was great about following up with us to make sure we had our music choices organized and articulated, logistics and time tables covered, and even double checked the important details with us just before the event. They were great the whole way and even checked in after the wedding to make sure we were happy with how everything had gone. It’s a first rate company that does all the right things.
Spencer was our DJ and I have only the most superlative things to say about his organization, preparation, communication, and most importantly, his DJ ability. I’ve never been to a wedding with a more active and lively dance floor from beginning to end. He was great about taking requests, played everything we wanted to hear (and none of the things we didn’t!) and was very conscious of reading the room throughout the event. Spencer is a great guy and we spoke with him multiple times before the wedding to make sure we were on the same page, and it was always a very positive experience. Based on his preparation and communication with us leading up to the wedding we were very comfortable and confident going into the big day, and I can honestly say that I can’t imagine someone doing a better job than what Spencer did. I can’t recommend Spencer or Beat Train enough.
My husband and I were married this past June in Waterville Valley, NH and we were lucky enough to have Spencer as our DJ. I first found out about Beat Train at a friend’s wedding and was eventually paired with Spencer. From that point on it was a match made in wedding heaven. Spencer immediately contacted me and since I could not make my schedule work to meet him in person he was more than happy to do a video conference with me. We ended up talking for over an hour about the music and the overall flow of the wedding. He was very open to my ideas and had some great suggestions of his own. He even agreed to keep the party going by moving his equipment over to the bar next to the reception for the after party. It was such an amazing time. I danced pretty much the entire night and so did all of our guests. He played the perfect balance of new songs and classic songs, but nothing cheesy or cliché. Everything was exactly our style. He also played all the songs I requested prior to the wedding and accommodated any impromptu requests made by our guests. I was approached several times throughout the night by friends and family who raved about what a good DJ he was. Our wedding coordinator also raved about him and I am sure she will be recommending him to other couples getting married at the venue. At the end of the day, music was one of the most important things to us and working with Spencer and Beat Train gave us everything we envisioned and then some. I want to throw another party, any party, so I can work with them again.
My husband and I got married on 10/24/15. A close friend of mine recommended Beat Train since she used them for her wedding and had a great experience. I was more than happy to book a DJ with them since my friend’s wedding was so much fun. My husband and I asked to work with Spencer since we liked his bio. I couldn’t be happier with our choice. Spencer was so cool and intuitive about his music selections for the evening. He met with us one afternoon for about two hours to really get to know our preferences and figure out all of the details. He was a total pro! Very helpful, patient, and easy to work with. Zach and I trusted him completely. Spencer made sure that all details of the evening were covered. He even helped my Maid of Honor and brother with a surprise performance that Zach and I had no idea about (which was so awesome!!!!).

My wife and I had Spencer DJ our wedding in early June and we could not have asked for any better results. We actually first spoke with Spencer about eight months before the wedding and he kept in contact regularly right up until our wedding day. Dealing with Spencer honestly felt like just chatting with one of my buddies about music and that made this process completely comfortable.
As for the wedding day, it was PERFECT. I had people coming up to ask about the DJ during both cocktail hour and dinner because they were enjoying the music so much. When the reception was coming to a close our guests broke out into not one, but two different chants of “ONE MORE SONG!!”. I have never been at a wedding where something like that had happened and I think it perfectly conveys what an amazing job Spencer did.

Spencer was a joy to work with. He was very friendly, professional, and easy going. Despite living on opposite coasts we felt very comfortable through the whole process since we talked with us on skype, communicated via email, and even met in us person the week of the wedding to go over everything.
At the wedding he kept everyone dancing until the very last moment we were permitted to have music playing. We even got some compliments on his cocktail hour and dinner music – people loved everything he played. He was super accommodating of our requests and really fun to work with. We had an absolutely wonderful time dancing at our wedding and attribute a lot of that to Spencer.
I worked with DJ Spencer who was amazing throughout the whole process. He offered to meet us prior to the wedding, which was very helpful to go over details and specifics and put our minds at ease. He was very responsive to emails and my last minute requests/changes. I honestly was not worried about anything, I knew that DJ Spencer had everything covered. He played all of our ‘must play’ songs, although I did keep that list pretty short because I trusted his judgment and reading the crowd. Everyone had a BLAST. People are still talking about his mash ups and mixes, everyone was dancing and I mean EVERYONE. We had such a fantastic time.

When we first began our search for a DJ we researched online and contacted Beat Train. We heard back very quickly and everything went smoothly from then on. Once we confirmed that Spencer would be our DJ we skyped with him so he could get to know us and what we were looking for. He was super professional, helpful and fun to brainstorm with. It was the first time Spencer had worked a wedding at our venue and everything went perfectly. He arrived plenty early and was so helpful keeping the flow of our reception going throughout the evening. We would 100% recommend Spencer.
We had our wedding on Cape Cod in October and our DJ, Spencer Henderson, did a phenomenal job. Leading up to the wedding, Spencer was very organized and attentive to the structure of the event and our various requests. He also set up a Skype meeting a month beforehand to get to know us a bit more and to gauge our musical tastes and styles. During the reception, Spencer read the crowd perfectly and the mixing, sequencing and transitions between songs was seamless. He kept the energy high throughout the evening and we both remarked afterwards that we had never been to a wedding where so many danced for so long. Excellent job.

I highly recommend Spencer Henderson as a DJ for any party or event. I have hired him to DJ the staff parties for my coworkers and I for two years now. He is friendly and courteous. He checked with me several times before the date of the party to make sure he had special requests and would be prepared for the event. Spencer has great professionalism in his position as DJ and I will be calling him every year to DJ our annual staff party. I would recommend him to anyone I know for their event as well, without any reservations.
He’s had a regular Friday night party at our venue that remains an upbeat, popular edition to our nightlife roster. Professional and enthusiastic, Henderson can keep the party going all night and is a talented, professional and reliable DJ.
Beat Train was a breeze to work with and made booking simple. Picking Spencer was easy after listening to his samples, especially his awesome mashup mixes, and geeking out with him on the introductory call as we have similar tastes. One of the great things about Spencer is that he can separate mixing for personal appeal or mashup night at The Good Life and playing a set for a wedding with a diverse crowd. This was evident when I took a moment to switch from a jacket to a vest and came back outside to nearly everyone on the dance floor from our younger friends to aunts and uncles.
Throughout the process, over emails and in-person, Spencer gave us professional advice while maintaining our tastes from the big list of artists we put down in the questionnaire he sent out. Spencer spent the time to listen to each artist and found the tracks that would fit a wedding — woohoo Tom Waits and Beats Antique! He actually cares about the lyrics and emotions of a song fitting the event. The day of wedding forecast fluctuated between downpour and sun so we were not sure if ceremony would be outside or under the tent. Spencer made us feel at ease in being able to be flexible and prepared for any situation. You will get professional minimalist transitions without cheesy lines and help moving between toasts and event during the wedding to keep on time. He is a DJ that understands how people change in energy and focus throughout the night, so he is actually there reading the crowd, changing between songs of different tempos to give people a break and regroup for more high energy music later.
After it all, we got the saved playlist from him so that we could listen to it again, because for us as a couple, the music was a big part of our special day as much as the food and photographs.
Our guests were absolutely RAVING about our wedding dance floor!! DJ Spencer Henderson was spectacular — you would be incredibly lucky to work with him! He stuck close to our list of must play/ maybe play songs, but added in a couple unexpected remixes that were SO much fun. He read the crowd perfectly and kept the dance floor packed all night. Multiple guests told me they needed a break but they couldn’t bear to miss a single song! Spencer was enthusiastic and helpful throughout the music planning process, and flexible when we made some last-minute changes to our wedding day schedule because of stormy weather. I cannot recommend him highly enough!! Overall, working with Beat Train was incredibly smooth, and everyone I communicated with was friendly and quick-to-respond. We had to postpone our wedding date twice due to the pandemic, but they made it so easy for us to shift our plans and pick a new DJ when our original choice was no longer available. From start to finish, Beat Train Productions was simply amazing!!
