As a music industry professional it was harder than I thought to find the perfect wedding DJ. I had 3 (what I thought were) simple requests; not cheesy, large musical knowledge, can read the room and keep everyone dancing. After months of searching I am so happy that I landed with Beat Train and DJ Jeff.
Jeff hit every point that was so important to me and my wife. He took into account all of our musical preferences for the day and feedback through our meetings and 100% delivered. He was a consummate professional when it came to planning out the evening, keeping things on time and classily preventing the things we didn’t want to happen (all aspects that are hugely important and I wish I had considered earlier in my DJ pursuit).
For the most important thing (the music) he absolutely killed it. Cocktail hour and dinner he mixed in our requests with songs that perfectly fit the mood we were trying to set. For the main event after dinner he kept a dance floor of 15-85 year olds moving for 2 hours. He nailed the vibe and style of music we were after, delivering the must plays and preventing the do not plays. He is a true DJ, not just someone playing a playlist, and he seamlessly mixed in and out of songs and the few moments that didn’t hit he was able to move on to ones that did quickly. All our guests were telling us he was the best wedding DJ they’d ever! Even the bartenders were dancing along. If you want a crowd pleaser who will also cater to your taste and perfectly straddle the line of keeping the party going while staying out of the way DJ Jeff is your guy. My only regret is I took so long before reaching out to Beat Train in the first place.
We hired Jeff Gilbride as our wedding DJ through Beat Train Productions for our October 2021 wedding in Portland, ME. The whole Beat Train team was easy to communicate with, clearly outlined their process and timeline, and exceeded our expectations. We thought the pricing was fair for the quality of communication and the high-caliber attention from Jeff on our event day.
We loved being able to select and work with a specific DJ, not just have one assigned to our event. Jeff was FABULOUS. He was friendly, kind, and attentive in the planning process, and he tailored all of the music to exactly what we wanted. Jeff wasn’t familiar with our venue but went above and beyond to communicate with us and our coordinator to make both the ceremony and reception audio set-ups fit in a quirky space.
The music content was PERFECT. Jeff really listened to what we liked, and throughout the evening, he really fit the music to vibe of the room – cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, etc. We didn’t expect our guests to hit the dance floor but Jeff got them moving and it made a MEMORABLE night. We would recommend Jeff and the Beat Train crew in an instant!!
It was such a pleasure to work with Jeff. Looking back on our wedding, with all of the moving pieces, Jeff was someone we counted on for the sound at the ceremony, dinner music, and dancing and he delivered! It was seamless. Above all, Jeff is a DJ. Not one of those hokey wedding DJs— he is an artist and is impressive. Having a DJ of his caliber will make a difference!
We hosted 150 people at the Chatham Bars Inn. The ceremony was in a boathouse on the beach and the reception was up the hill in the hotel. Jeff set up a really strong sound system for the ceremony, and played the music we asked for and it was perfectly timed for the processional and recessional.
After the cocktail reception Jeff was already ready to go up in the hotel for introductions and toasts. He worked closely with us on the sequence of events for the reception, gave us suggestions based on his experience, and everything went just as we envisioned.
As far as a DJ, we gave Jeff a bunch of “do not play” songs and a few “must play.” He delivered. The party did not stop, he mixed songs in perfectly, and moved effortlessly among the many different genres that we like. One of my cousins, who is a sound engineer, remarked, “this guy knows what he’s doing!”
In short, if you’re stressed about logistics or nervous about people dancing, hire Jeff and take that stress out of the equation. He is someone you can trust and he will turn the wedding into a party.
Jeff Gilbride at Beat Train Productions is an exceptional DJ! He was incredibly easy to work with and made the entire experience seamless for us. He worked with us to understand what our wedding day would look like with no detail being too small or overlooked. We had multiple calls to give him an understanding of our tastes in music, must play songs and the vibe we wanted for our wedding day. The music selection he put together… he had the dance floor going off for 3+ hours straight! No one wanted to leave to even get a drink cause he kept playing hit after hit and his transitions, the way he mixes, just incredibly smooth and seamless. This company was amazing to work with. Having a wedding in an area I wasn’t familiar with made it difficult to find trusted vendors. Beat Train has a great survey to fill out to help match you with some great potential candidates. Best of all you can actually hear mixes from the DJ’s too. We were matched with Jeff Gilbride who totally crushed it. We had 3 full hours of people dancing and ALL of our guests made note of how great he was. We feel lucky to have had him on our special day. My husband and I hired DJ Jeff from Beat Train for our October wedding, and we were absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out! From the beginning, everyone at Beat Train was so professional and friendly. We wanted a blend of traditions from both New Orleans and Boston at our wedding to incorporate both of our families, so we asked a lot of Jeff. We chose DJ Jeff Gilbride for our wedding on a strong recommendation from one of our good friends who is also a DJ in Boston. When we initially signed on with Jeff we had a quick call to get on the same page and then reengaged a few weeks from the wedding once we finished the questionnaire. Jeff was very responsive and flexible with his time and walked through every detail of the wedding script with us multiple times. He offered insights from his experience but was also very flexible if we countered and ended up getting everything absolutely perfect. Jeff was very well spoken for announcements and really kept the flow of the wedding organic (which would not have been the case without his recommendations). Getting any songs on our wide range of requests was seamless with Jeff and all we had to do was send him a few itunes links or email a few mp3s since we were very particular (Jeff really did all the work). With regards to the special day Jeff was there very early and coordinated with all our other vendors on his own accord so everyone was aligned on the script. He performed all of the ceremony/entrances/first dances to the script exactly and had people on the dance floor before dinner ended because the music was so tempting. The reception that Jeff put together was absolutely amazing and he was fading in and out of songs perfectly, giving just enough time for each song before moving onto another awesome jam. He kept the dance floor completely packed all night and everyone of my guests I talked to said he was the best wedding DJ they have ever experienced. I could not recommend Jeff more for any event where music is involved, he is very professional and blew away our expectations.
Beat Train and our awesome DJ Jeff were phenomenal to work with! We needed to change our wedding date due to COVID-19 and the whole team was very accommodating and flexible. We were unable to have a dance floor for the wedding due to state restrictions and our DJ, Jeff, was able to create an upbeat playlist for what would have been the dance floor portion of the night that everyone enjoyed. We would absolutely recommend Beat Train and Jeff for your wedding. You will not be disappointed!
I found Beat Train via word of mouth and was super impressed by the playlists on their website. Their prices are very reasonable and my fiance and I narrowed down our choices by the mixes that are posted. We ended up on a call with Jeff Durand and booked him.
Through the process, Jeff was very thorough and quick to respond to any questions. The staff at Beat Train was also very quick to respond and very detail-oriented. Prior to the wedding, we met Jeff in person and he walked us through his music strategy. We were thoroughly impressed and I had no reservations going into the wedding.
Jeff played during the dinner hour and the reception and he KILLED it. I got compliments all night about the music and everyone wanted to know who we booked. The guests were really impressed that Jeff was mixing the music and that it truly flowed vs. some weddings where it sounds like it’s just a playlist. He kept the energy up and if something wasn’t sticking, he seamlessly moved to the next song. I changed my mind 3 times during the night about how many slow songs we should play, and he was able to roll with the punches.

We knew Beat Train Productions from an incredible night of dancing at my brother’s wedding a few years back, so we knew we wanted to use them. Working with Jeff Gilbride went so smoothly: it felt relaxed but also like he had everything taken care of. He asked great questions along the way, worked through his plan with us to smooth out any questions ahead of time, and everything ran according to plan on the big day, so the preparation-part was an A+. Then let’s talk about the DJing! The energy on the dance floor was incredible. Jeff included so many killer songs, perfectly mixed so the momentum stayed the whole time, and he made good on hitting a TON of our requested artists/songs even though they spanned different eras/genres- it was all just natural and dancey and awesome. I love dancing and was really hoping that it would go well, and I didn’t leave the dancefloor the whole night because I was having so much fun- euphoria! I got lots of comments that this was the best wedding DJ people had heard, but even more important than the comments was seeing so many of my non-dancing friends out there having fun! I cannot recommend Jeff Gilbride highly enough!

Our wedding was October 8, 2016 and Jeff Gilbride was our incredible DJ. I had initially wanted a band, but my husband would only consider a DJ – I am incredibly grateful for his stubbornness because Jeff made the evening “one of the best weddings I’ve ever attended” according to our guests. Jeff blended genres seamlessly to have everyone dancing all night. We gave him almost no direction, we were late with our music planner, and changed the ceremony songs a few days before the wedding, but it didn’t matter: Jeff was flexible, thoughtful and genius in interpreting our thoughts to create a music plan for our day. Jeff was able to accommodate shortening of songs, gave us our queues, and provided transitions. Most importantly Jeff honored our “do not play” list and was able to diffuse requests, even from the mother of the bride (this bride could not be more relieved that We Are Family was NOT played at our wedding, sorry not sorry Mom!!) We would recommend Jeff and Beat Train 100x over.

Our DJ, Jeff Gilbride, was fantastic! The music he played for us was the perfect blend of styles, from soul and funk to pop to wedding classics. Our guests commented on how creatively and seamlessly he wove songs together, bringing dancers of all ages onto the dance floor and creating a club-like atmosphere. When we started searching for a DJ, my fiance (now husband, yay!) said he didn’t want a “cheesy” DJ. And Jeff was definitely the antithesis of cheese. He communicated clearly with us during the months leading up to the wedding, was obviously eager to be sure he understood our vision, and executed that vision perfectly on the day of the event. I especially appreciated that, although Jeff did play all of the songs on our wish list, he also added music that complemented our choices.
It rained on our wedding day, and we’d planned to have our event outside. Despite this potentially chaotic situation, Jeff was flexible, willing, and understanding. Our timeline shifted as we adjusted to having to take photos indoors and push back our ceremony – Jeff was cool with all of it. He was clearly committed to giving us a fun evening and it was an absolute success! I would definitely recommend Jeff and Beat Train to anyone looking for an outstanding music experience.
Jeff had the dance floor crowded ALL NIGHT. He did an amazing job. We were worried about having a cheesy DJ or a traditional wedding DJ and Jeff was so so so far from that, we felt like we were at a club and all of our favorite songs were on. He was super communicative, friendly and extremely professional.
Jeff Gilbride was the DJ for our wedding and he was amazing! Very professional, responsive, and super friendly and reliable. He took care of everything and was great to work with. The music was awesome- despite us not giving him a ton of suggestions he managed to capture exactly what we were looking for, he managed to get both old and young guests dancing at the beginning of the night and kept the dance party going until last call at 2 am. Even my dad was dancing – a pretty unexpected feat!
As someone who is extremely particular about music, I was very worried about finding the perfect DJ for our wedding. I was even more worried about finding a DJ willing to travel to Fryeburg, Maine for a night. After a long and thorough search of DJs from Montreal to NYC, I found Jeff Gilbride and Beat Train Productions. I spoke with Jeff early on in the process and told him we didn’t want any of the standard “Wedding DJ” schtick. No wedding party intros, no first dance, no father/daughter dance..our only requirement was five hours of solid dancing. Jeff was more than willing to adapt his plan to work best with our needs and deliver exactly what we wanted. We went through the type of music we wanted and what songs we didn’t want, as well as how we wanted the whole evening to flow together. Jeff took detailed notes and delivered an unbelievable five hour set with no breaks or lulls. Everyone was dancing. My mom, my wife’s 65 year-old uncle with a fresh hip replacement, EVERYONE. Starting with a perfect mix of Motown and 1960’s soul that transitioned seamlessly into 90s Hip Hop (so much Bad Boy) and then to modern stuff, Jeff completely crushed it. Despite the fact that we went over our budget for Jeff (understandable given the 3 hour drive to and from Boston), I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking to have a great night and amazing music.
Choosing Jeff as our wedding DJ was one of the best decisions my fiancée and I made. Jeff was very thorough during the planning process; he met us on location at our wedding venue and patiently listened to our ideas, offering recommendations from his experience that he thought might help us realize our vision. Jeff wrote a line-by-line “script” of how the musical portion of the reception would unfold, assuring us that there would be no surprises.
Most importantly, of course, was the music. It was amazing! My fiancée and I aren’t at the bleeding edge of music, so the cool kids/hipsters at our wedding were surprised—and impressed—by what an awesome soundtrack Jeff pulled together. I got many compliments on the contemporary tunes Jeff played during dinner, which were a departure from the Big Band and bossa nova you often hear. The dance floor was packed all night with young and old, as the music blended seamlessly from MoTown to Top 40 and back again. I had such a good time dancing that I barely mingled with my guests; my mother, who is 65, did the same. We continue to remember Jeff’s music fondly, as do our guests, who still comment on it. I would hire Jeff again in a heartbeat
I had an amazing experience using DJ Jeff Gilbride, as the DJ for our wedding. First let me start when I first met him, he was referred to me by a friend, he also was the DJ at her wedding! I told him the days and times I was able to meet with him, and he was extremely kind allowing me to come to his office and ask him about 1000 questions. “I will literally play anything you want me to play, even if I do not have it, I will have it come your wedding day”, Jeff told me many many times. This statement was held very true, a lot of music I had asked him for was old Hispanic music, which isn’t very easy to find, but not for Jeff, he found them all! I wrote him a short email of a scattered timeline of the evening to which he emailed me back with a full detailed time-stamped outline of the evening, which included what he was going to say when, and what song he would play! This man is unbelievable! Not only was he extremely organized, prompt with timing, entertaining, but most importantly he was extremely patient with me before the wedding with all my last minute changes, questions, and demands, BUT also very patient at the wedding with me asking him to “change the song in 30 seconds”, or “play this song next”, or “can you announce this now”. Everything he did and said to me that evening was with a smile on his face and he did it gladly. I highly HIGHLY recommend Jeff Gilbride as a DJ for any event, big or small! He is just simply amazing, and he made my wedding so wonderful, without him we would have all been sitting around twiddling our thumbs….. 🙂 Thanks again for everything Jeff, you rock!!!
Jeff provided everything we wanted in a DJ. Our guests danced all night and continue to rave about the great music and DJ. I could not be happier with the experience. Music was a top-priority at our wedding and we spent a great deal of time finding the right DJ, and I am sure glad we did. Jeff was organized, professional and fun. We had a broad & eclectic mix of music that we wished to play at our wedding and Jeff had command of all the different genres (everything from jazz, classics, obscure indie, 90s R&B, hip-hop and pop hits). During our meetings with him it was quickly apparent that he knew his stuff, and made us comfortable that he could execute on exactly what we were looking for. Jeff played everything we requested and then elevated the experience by playing other songs within the genre. He seamlessly mixed songs and was amazingly skilled at reading and working the crowd. He nailed it for us and I have no doubt he will do that same for you. I recommend Jeff with highest regards and without hesitation.
Jeff Gilbride was the DJ for our wedding in May 2016, and I can not recommend him or Beat Train Productions highly enough! The company was extremely responsive after our initial contact and helped explain our options. After listening to samples from some of the available DJs, we immediately thought Jeff would be a great match. Jeff was really easy to communicate with via email as we started to plan. Closer to the wedding we met in person and he had really great ideas based on ur preferences as neither my husband or myself wanted to micro manage the music – that’s why we were hiring a DJ! He came up with a timeline for the evening and a playlist that was low-key for cocktails and dinner, and then music that kept the dance floor packed all night. Everyone, even older relatives, had a blast dancing and we received so many nice comments about the music and about Jeff himself. I will say that Jeff was extremely flexible with some last minute requests for obscure Greek music and some other guest special requests – he made it all work seamlessly and really helped to make our night special! Jeff was extremely professional throughout and really took care of everything for us, which saved us a lot of time and stress. It was a pleasure to work with him! Thanks Jeff!!
Our wedding DJ was Jeff Gilbride from Beat Train. Jeff killed it at the wedding. He met with us in person well ahead of the big day, devised an easy-to-follow order of march for himself, and worked closely with us to flesh out what type of vibe we wanted to have during each portion of our wedding. He crushed the dance floor. Everyone had an amazing time and we got a lot of compliments for the music. 10/10 would do again, but hopefully won’t have to!

Simply put: Jeff is the man. From the moment we watched his video on Beat Train’s site, we knew he had the perfect vibe for our wedding and he surpassed our expectations. With a relatively small wedding of 60 people, we saw just about every face on the dance floor several times and Jeff mixed up the right amount of every style for every genre and person who attended. Jeff exceeded our expectations for how a DJ could set the proper mood throughout the wedding reception-from the start of the cocktail hour to the end of the dancing. In the decade that I’ve known Jeff Gillbride, his professionalism, knowledge of music, mastery of sound control and ability to work a crowd has taken our venue to be considered one of the best clubs in the city of Boston.
Jeff was awesome to work with for our wedding, from start to finish. In the planning stages, he was both laid-back and organized, responsive and relaxed. He was invaluable in helping us think through the layout of the wedding, and asked us a number of questions to help us create the flow that we wanted. He was able to meet every request that we asked of him with (apparent) ease and without a trace of annoyance, even when we threw him last-minute curve balls about the sound capabilities of our venue. Jeff managed the execution of our ceremony flawlessly, despite a number of nervous speakers, singers, surprises, and songs, and for that I am forever grateful.
I knew that I wanted Jeff to be the DJ at my wedding as soon as I got engaged, and it was the one area where my self-proclaimed control freak fiancé gave me complete control. I knew Jeff’s style and trusted his taste, and had very minimal input in what he played during our reception, to the extent that I simply asked him not to play one song and to do whatever he wanted during the dance portion of the evening. However, I took total credit that evening for Jeff’s talent and understanding of the crowd once every single guest remarked on how awesome the DJ was and how they couldn’t believe how many fantastic songs he had managed to play that evening. People stayed on the dance floor the entire night and continued talking about the music selection the next morning at brunch.
Jeff provided us with a gorgeous ceremony and made our reception a blast, and was by far the easiest vendor that we worked with throughout our planning process. I would absolutely work with him again and have recommended him to several friends.
It can’t be easy to DJ for a couple of musicians, but Jeff did an amazing job on our wedding. My brother – the first indie music snob I ever met – said Jeff’s skills were “legit,” which is enormous praise from my brother. Jeff read the room perfectly, took our specific preferences very seriously, and our friends and family were dancing for hours. Solid, solid choice if you fear super cheesy DJs. Jeff was zero percent cheesy. We were very pleased.
We just got married this past weekend, and had Jeff as our DJ. Everyone LOVED the music – we got several kudos from the cocktail and dinner portion of the evening, as well as a kick-butt dance party after dinner. People were so giddy about the music. If you are looking for a DJ who will make sure your guests are dancing the whole night, then Jeff G. is who you need to hire immediately! We were a bit worried that our international, multi-cultural guest list would not be invested in dancing because they had different musical reference points. Jeff was not afraid of the challenge and blew our expectations out of the water. All our guests were dancing the whole night and having a blast. It was amazing!
We really loved working with Jeff. He was up for our crazy ideas and had lots of tips from his substantial experience that worked to create the vibe we wanted. He was always available to jump on a Zoom call to answer our questions and was so professional and prepared. During the wedding, we asked Jeff to play an international song that he was unfamiliar with. He said no problem, pulled it up and then offered a suggestion on when was best to play it to keep the momentum of the party. The impromptu addition went off without a hitch.

Jeff Gilbride is excellent. He’s attentive to the smallest details and flexible when things get more abstract. This was what we needed as there were certain aspects to our wedding we knew very well and others we were still working through on wedding day. Jeff patiently absorbed our sometimes scatter-brained plans and he sequenced each event of the wedding together fluidly. People were spilling off the edges of the dance floor. We picked him after working through the myriad sets he’s posted on Beat Train’s site. Good vibes, friendly, easy to talk to, good musical knowledge base.

Our wedding night was amazing as we could’ve hoped it to be, and Jeff was one of the largest parts in that. I wish he could’ve heard all of the “your DJ is awesome!” comments, because we got a lot of them! He was an absolute pleasure to work with and we would recommend him highly.
We couldn’t have had a better experience than we had with Beat Train and Jeff Gilbride. They were helpful and responsive and flexible from Day 1, incorporating our favorite songs and genres and even adding more time to the contract so we could hype up the crowd before the ceremony. DJ Jeff Gilbride nailed the recessional song timing *perfectly*, and so many of our guests are still raving about his skills–everyone from our 95-year-old grandma to our young(ish) guests (and the venue staff) loved the music selections. I was worried about keeping our small-ish crowed on the dance floor all night, but it turns out I didn’t need to. We can’t recommend Beat Train and Jeff strongly enough!
Jeff Gilbride was our DJ who we cannot recommend enough. He was so organized and responsive, while also being incredibly laid back and letting us share our vision for the music/timeline for the night. We had Jeff as our DJ for our wedding in April. He was incredible!!! We had our initial meeting where we talked about our preferences and the things we wanted and didn’t want. We knew we didn’t want someone who would be taking the mic the whole night and someone who focused on the music and keeping people dancing. People did not leave the dance floor! For 3 full hour, people danced from song to song, I would say upwards of 25 people have come up to me since saying he was the best wedding DJ they’ve heard. He cut out the cheesy music but kept all the good ones that pleased all age groups. I cannot say enough good things – he was the highlight of our night!
We loved Beat Train and Jeff! The service was extremely communicative and professional. They answered all of our questions and their process was smooth. Jeff was the cherry on top! He made sure to stay connected to us and ensure the service was exactly what we were looking for. We really didn’t have to think at any moment during our wedding about what was next, even to the point of wrangling all of us before intros. Truly an expert and a delightful person. Worth every penny.
DJ Jeff Gilbride did an amazing job and at our wedding and was awesome to work with from start to finish! He was really collaborative during the planning process, helping us with the general wedding timeline, script, and vibe we were going for.
But most importantly, his music was FIRE. Everyone was dancing the whole time and people are still telling us how great the music was. He played all the songs we requested and did not plan anything on the do not play list. Highly highly recommend.
