Beat Train Productions was incredibly responsive, supportive, humble, and polite during the entire process of selecting and booking a DJ, signing the contract, and preparing for the big day. We can’t thank their admin team enough for their help! We ended up working with DJ Mariko, who was equally polite and accommodating. She really went out of her way to ask good questions, communicate with our venue, and triple check that no detail was left undiscussed so that the music could be perfect. She leaned into our musical taste and style, and was able to vary that as appropriate for ceremony vs. cocktails vs. dinner vs. partying. She MC’ed what I felt was a perfect amount – communicating important details to guests, knowing exactly when to get people on the floor and how, and adding cheer to all the joy we felt that day. We got a lot of compliments on both the dinner music, which was heavily influenced by our style, as well as the dancing music, where Mariko artfully selected and flowed between the perfect party anthems. As soon as we met Mariko we could tell how seriously she takes her work and how committed she was to ensuring our wedding was perfect. She offered really helpful advice all through the planning process and made us feel completely confident that she understood our vision. And WOW did she deliver!! Guests commented throughout the night that she was the best DJ ever and that they had never seen a dance floor stay consistently packed through the entire wedding. She did just the right amount of announcements to keep people hyped up and on track. We couldn’t be happier. Best of all, she’s so communicative and reliable. Any questions we had were answered and on the wedding day I didn’t feel like I needed to check in on her. I literally can’t recommend Mariko enough! She made our wedding epic!
We had such a fantastic experience working with Mariko and the whole team at Beat Train for our recent wedding. Mariko really took the time to get to know us as a couple and the type of music we wanted at our wedding. She kept our friends and family on the dance floor the entire night. We had so many guests comment on what a fun dance party it was! We had a to make a few last minute changes when the musician who was supposed to play during our ceremony had to cancel last minute. Mariko jumped in and made sure we had fabulous ceremony music. She was organized, thoughtful, professional, and clearly cared so much about making sure we had the best wedding party. Mariko is awesome! She DJ’ed our wedding and the whole experience was great. Mariko made the whole planning process super easy for us, and she was helpful with guidance about how to best set things up for our venue, ceremony sound, guests, and vibe that we wanted. She was really receptive to what we had in mind but also provided helpful thoughts about what options could work better or worse. And during the reception, she absolutely killed it! She did a great set and the dance floor was packed. Tons of our guests complimented her DJ’ing. Mariko was an absolute pleasure to work with and we’d highly recommend her.

Our goal for our wedding was a rocking party with everyone on the dance floor having fun. And DJ Mariko made that happen!! She got to know us ahead of time to understand the vibe and flow for the evening. Rather than just putting together a playlist, she took time to curate a special experience and it couldn’t have been better. EVERYONE was out there with us dancing. We loved her DJ announcing style too, which is just enough communication so guests know what’s going on. We’re super grateful that we found her for our celebration.
DJ Mariko was AMAZING for our wedding! We truly felt her passion in helping us to create a memorable night. Throughout the preparation – including our pre-event video calls and in coordinating with our videographer over sound – Mariko was responsive, kind, and attentive to us, our guests, and our other vendors. She lined up the music and the speeches seamlessly from the ceremony to the reception. She was also responsive to the vibe and got our small party up and on the dance floor (just as we had hoped!). Our guests keep telling us how much they enjoyed Mariko and the photos are reflective of the fantastic energy she brought (we aren’t publicly sharing our photos). When we were researching her work, her wedding mix samplers were so good they inspired us to have a spontaneous dance party date night in our living room! Mariko was a valuable part of creating this magic moment; we highly recommend her!
We hired DJ Mariko and are thankful we did. My wife and I had no idea what we were doing and Mariko made the process of picking our music easy. She had us think of not only the songs we wanted but also what we didn’t want. Once at the event Mariko kept close watch of the dance floor to see what the crowd reacted well to. We had a plan going in, however the key to a good dj is their ability to adapt the plan based on what is happening at the event and Mariko has this ability in spades. Very happy we hired her and would recommend her to anyone looking for a dj for their event.

We are so grateful to have had DJ Mariko at our wedding. She was kind and attentive in the weeks leading up to our big day, and then when the day arrived she brought the VIBES! Every single person was up and out of their seats, dancing to our favorite tunes. Even the older people joined in! In addition to the amazing tunes, there was the perfect amount of MC-ing, so guests knew what to do next. We even had a really special unplanned send-off thanks to Mariko. Seriously, weeks after this wedding, we are all still talking about how awesome she was. Friends are still texting us about her! Mariko was an absolute rockstar at our daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. We knew we wanted to work with Mariko from our first phone call. Well-versed in her craft, Mariko guided us through the planning, helped us create a perfect timeline and a playlist, and answered all my emails promptly and with great detail. On the day of the event, Mariko kept the party going and entertained a crowd that ranged in ages from 2 y.o. to 95. Everyone was participating, dancing, smiling, and having a fantastic time. At the end of our party, we felt like we were saying goodbye to a good friend. If you are looking for someone with an abundance of positive energy, Mariko is your DJ.
I was at a NYC club having the best time dancing to DJ Mariko and had to book her for my wedding. She was organized, knowledgeable, and was so easy to communicate with. Her experience truly showed with the questions she asked. I didn’t even think about the little things such as the length of a song and what section of the song we wanted to play while walking down the aisle. I’m so thankful that Mariko was our DJ and I highly recommend her. She was so attentive and responsive to our calls/emails. We come from a very conservative family and she had everyone dancing and by everyone we mean kids, grandparents, and some snobby relatives! My partner and I really wanted someone from the LGBQT community to be our DJ. After inquiring with a few lesbians bars her name kept popping up. We were really glad we took a chance and hired her as our DJ. She played the essentials that you hear at a gay bar to perfect cocktail reception music that was still upbeat. We’re still getting compliments about how incredible our wedding DJ was weeks later! Mariko was amazing, both in the lead up to our big day and throughout the wedding. She kept the energy up and played all of our favorite tunes at exactly the right moments. 5 stars doesn’t do her justice: my mom stayed until after midnight. How do you know if a DJ is good? its actually a simple test. If they keep the dance floor full- they are good. If the dance floor is empty then they don’t get the crowd. The DJ is the center of the party. We had a Holiday party with a diverse/multi-generational crowd. Age range: 21-55 Ethnicity: very wide range Gender: all Mariko kept the dance floor full for a few hours. People were dancing the all time. We will surely hire her for our next event.
