We searched throughout New England for just the right DJ and decided on Beat Train and their artist Jake Nissen. I have nothing but words of praise/encouragement to anyone considering using him to help masterfully tie together their wedding.
Music was a priority and something I felt particular in trying to create a unique soundtrack that reflected our long relationship while also keeping people on the floor. I filtered through hundreds of precious fav songs before talking with Jake upon our initial consultation and found him immediately kind/receptive in helping us create exactly what we wanted.
While our music for the dinning/dancing gravitated towards an eclectic mix of soul, 30’s big band, folk, alternative, pop, & 80’s, I feel confident Jake could have tied in any genre we threw at him. He played every one of our requests and arranged our selections to match flawlessly with his own while being receptive to myself/guests and technically blending everything together seamlessly. He even matched the BPM’s of each song we submitted to be arranged into the best mix possible.
Our tent reception was in a very non-traditional large outside setting with plenty of places for people to mingle/roam, but throughout the entire night Jake kept everyone on the dance floor and together for every announcement/speech. He was always present, professional, clear, (never intrusive) and our guests continue to praise his work months later.
Pre-wedding Jake kept in contact and even drove hours out of his way to consult with my wife and I in person. Of course on the big day he traveled literally across the state to a field in the middle of nowhere to be there for us.
From my first telephone conversation, to our last song of the night “Under Pressure” I never felt pressure with Jake knowing we were in such good hands. It felt like having just one more of our close friends with us to help celebrate what was truly one of our favorite days ever. Thanks Jake!

We could not recommend DJ Jake from Beat train productions more! I’m someone who did A LOT of research when it came to finding vendors for our wedding, but I was finding it difficult to research DJ’s since most of what you have to go off is just reviews (you can’t take a picture of what a DJ has to offer)! From the very first conversation I had with DJ Jake, I was sold! He was professional, experienced, and most importantly he was able to glean the kind of atmosphere we were going for from the random song and artist choices we were able to give him! And he was able to offer excellent suggestions for things we couldn’t decide on. He moved seamlessly from the different moods we had wanted for the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, through dinner, and on to dancing! He had the dance floor packed from the very beginning until the very end of the night with guests of all ages! After the last song, the crowd was having so much fun that they were begging him to go on and decided to start singing their own song just to keep it going haha! The announcements he made for us were perfect and concise which was just what we were hoping for as well! We truly can’t thank DJ Jake enough for providing the soundtrack for our perfect day.

He set-up a time before our wedding to go over everything and answer any questions we had. He was incredibly accommodating to our special requests and made everything to smoothly. Jake has a great voice for announcements and we asked him to pick most of the music for the reception except for a few special request songs we had. We even had a choreographed dance for once song and he timed it perfectly with us, everyone was surprised. Overall I couldn’t recommend Jake and Beat Train more, they are professional, personable and easy to work with.
When we were planning our wedding one of the most important things was making sure our guests had a good, no great! time. Enter Jake from Beat Train Productions. We were recommended to Beat Train Productions from a friend that just got married and had a fabulous experience. We chose Jake Nissen not only for his great taste in music (listen to his mixes!) but it was his professionalism that made us feel completely at ease for the wedding planning and day of. First, Jake is extremely courteous and flexible. My husband and I had busy work schedules and we had a video chat to make sure we were comfortable with him. He accommodated us with our requests (can you do a mock introduction of us as a Mr. and Mrs.?) and answered our questions. We signed w/ Jake shortly after. What we didn’t expect was our DJ checking in on us during our planning process to answer any questions, provide music selections, or music choices we might have had. We felt like he really cared to make sure our day was perfect and our music choices fit our personality. Flash forward to our wedding day and every guest was on the dance floor! The party lasted all night long and there wasn’t a cheesy or corny song on the playlist (something we didn’t want at our wedding). Something I would recommend is to trust your DJ and not to control the playlist. Jake knew how to judge the crowd and kept the fun through the whole night. We highly recommend Jake from Beat Train Productions – thank you for being a part of our dream team!
Our DJ, Jake, was INCREDIBLE! We were SO happy to have had Jake DJ our wedding. We read wonderful reviews beforehand and when we met Jake in person to share our music preferences, we were even more excited for our big day. As soon as the music started, our guests were UP AND DANCING! We had dance circles happening almost immediately and guests of all ages danced the night away. Many people commented how the majority of our guests danced almost the entire night. Jake was kind, warm, fun, and talented. He got the party going and kept it going all night. Everyone loved his music selection and he had the perfect balance for guests of all ages. We were sad when the night was over – everyone wanted to keep going. DJ Jake at Beat Train Productions was the best DJ at any wedding we’ve been to. We had the most amazing time at the reception and we credit him with that! He totally got us and our tastes and played exactly the music that we love. I love that everyone was up and dancing the WHOLE TIME! So many people have told us since the wedding that they had so much fun and specifically mentioned Jake! Working with Beat Train Productions was so easy. We had a phone call with Jake and listened to his mixes online before picking him. We also met with him about a month before the wedding to go through their worksheet and our preferences.
Jake Nissen was the DJ for our wedding, and we couldn’t have been happier. He was AWESOME from start to finish! Jake met with us and really got the direction we wanted the music to go in for each part of the evening, and he spent a bunch of time up front preparing playlists for us to review and provide input on. He ticked every box when it came to playing music we really wanted to hear during cocktails, dinner, and dancing, and he read the crowd beautifully. I found Beat Train for DJ services by looking for a “non-cheesy” DJ. We had an initial phone call where we went over everything we wanted in detail and they were incredibly helpful. We then chose a DJ based on price and recommendations from our initial phone call. We chose Jake and could not have been happier. He worked with us over email and met in person. We would like to thank Jake Nissen from Beat Train Productions for his outstanding DJ services at our wedding in Boston on 4/29/17! In the months leading up to our wedding, Jake went above and beyond to accommodate our ridiculous schedules in setting up meetings over Skype. We planned from afar, so that added a bit to the complexity. Jake custom edited our first dance song to get it to a reasonable length and it was perfect! The day of the wedding, Jake was extremely well prepared, having all of the music we requested queued up for the ceremony and with professionally announcing the wedding party at the start of the reception. Jake has top notch equipment and expertly read the crowd all night, keeping the dance floor full from the first song to the last. We gave him full creative freedom to play any songs he wished and he absolutely killed it. He was also great at playing our guests’ requested songs. We are still getting compliments on our DJ a week after the wedding! We could not have asked for a better experience. Jake is a top notch professional, and an excellent addition to the Beat Train crew. We would highly recommend him to any couple searching for their wedding DJ. Jake Nissen was the DJ for our wedding at the New England Aquarium on 9/3/16. As soon as we signed on with Beat Train, Jake reached out to let us know he was available and happy to discuss our music plans with him at any time. A few weeks out from the wedding, we had a planning call to discuss our vision for the night. He was organized, thoughtful and professional. We went into the evening completely confident he’d do a great job, and we were not disappointed! The dance floor was packed all night long. We could not have asked for a better DJ for our wedding, Jake really made the evening perfect. Prior to the wedding Jake arrange a few Skype calls, and was very flexible when I made changes to the time last minute. Jake was incredibly easy going and a lot of fun to work with, he answered every question we had and even asked us ones we hadn’t considered. Not only did he arrive early to attend our rehearsal, but he helped us right up to the last few minutes unpackaging and hanging lights for the reception (chaos). During the ceremony he never missed a cue for our complex song requests, the music before and during the ceremony was the perfect volume as well. I cannot tell you how many people complimented Jake’s song choices for the cocktail hour and reception, he played every song on our must play list, and was better than Pandora at figuring out which songs we liked based off of some of our choices. Even though Jake was around the corner and out of view of most of the reception (poor design on our part), he still managed to stay involved, reminding us about toasts, bouquet toss, and managed to accommodate our last minute send off song request. Jake kept the evening flowing from event to event, without missing a beat, and we hadn’t even requested that he do this. We are so thankful for everything he did to make our day perfect, he was flexible and obviously a very happy and fun going person. I would highly recommend to anyone, you seriously will not regret it.
Jake was our DJ and he CRUSHED IT. I am not really sure how people generally react to a DJ but we got so many compliments about Jake. Relatives, friends, young and old, all of our guests were raving about him. And of course we loved him too! He made it really easy to meet up ahead of time, was very accommodating, and was the perfect mix of creative on his own and receptive to our desires.
DJ Jake was amazing! Our wedding location had two set-ups, one which was on top of a hill! He managed to surpass our expectations with his hard work! He was timely and even stayed an extra hour at the last minute( for an extra cost of course =)) to help us party on! We would recommend Jake and Beat Train to anyone in the area! I have nothing but positive feedback for Beat Train Productions. They were flexible and accommodating when a last minute date change came about from my end. They were professional and courteous through it all. Jake did an incredible job DJing our school event. He took requests from the students and was able to provide smooth transitions so that there was always dancing! The lights were also awesome. It was a great experience all around! Jake from Beat Train was such an awesome DJ to work with for our fall wedding in Boston. Though new to the Boston scene, he had the Beat Train team behind him and was ready to get the party going all night!

Jake rocked my reception. I was worried about sound, and we actually didn’t even use half his power. His equipment was high-quality, and really brought the party. I requested two songs for my first dance, and he was able to fade them into each other! Very accommodating. Loved him!
Jake was great! He was very friendly, responsive, and listened to my needs/watns. He did a great job of reading the crowd, and adjusting the music accordingly. He also checked in with me when people were making frequent requests to make sure it was okay to play my Maybe List items.
We had an excellent experience with Big Mountain DJ’s. They were very professional and helpful. The DJ even met with us prior to the wedding to discuss options. He sat up wall lights for our reception and played the music for the ceremony. We would recommend them to anyone who wants to have great music at their reception or event.
