If you are deciding what DJ to use, stop right now, call Beat Train immediately, and pray that Greg Lanzillotta is available on your wedding day. I cannot recommend him enough. His music choices were great, our guests were raving about how great his song selections were, how great his transitions were, and how he kept the party atmosphere going. His professionalism was amazing – he didn’t bat an eye at my requests, my being a little stressed, my making last minute requests. I emailed him song changes a day or two before the wedding, and nothing was a problem. I had a hard time finding a DJ in Rhode Island, and was thrilled when I found Beat Train up in Boston. While they are a bit pricier than other DJ’s in Rhode Island, it is definitely a worthwhile investment if you’re going for a dance party vibe.
Greg was the best DJ any Bride and Groom could ask for! We got married in September and people are still reaching out to us telling us it was the best music at any wedding they have ever been to! The dance floor was packed ALL NIGHT! at one point my husband and I looked around and not one person was sitting down. Greg also helped keep us on schedule since we didn’t have a coordinator, don’t know how we would have got through the night without him. I am going to recommend him/his company to everyone I know.

We hired Beat Train Productions for our wedding DJ. The entire team are responsive, flexible, friendly and super helpful! We worked with Greg Lanzillotta. From the very first conversation with Greg, we knew we were in good hands. Being a gay couple, we were most concerned with having a fun and non-traditional celebration. My wife asked a friend to be our flower dude and she had two songs (Wild Thing-ToneLoc and I’m Too Sexy-Right Said Fred) selected for his entrance. Greg took the songs and created a mash-up that was by far beyond our imagination! The flower dude was a huge hit and had our guests cracking up! We can’t say enough great things about Greg! We had a very small wedding (45 people) and we were nervous of keeping everyone on the dance floor. He KILLED it!!! So many people came up to us and complimented on how great the music was and also said they had never been to a wedding where literally everyone was on the dance floor ALL night long!! We hired Greg Lanzilotta from Beat Train to DJ our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made. Greg new exactly how to work the room and kept us dancing all night. I am serious. I could not walk for three days after! As a self-proclaimed music aficionado and dancer, the music aspect of our wedding was of utmost importance to me. I wanted the night to flow smoothly, bringing parents and grandparents in and then slowly ramp up the dance party. We were looking for a non-cliche DJ set that was fun and fresh…and Greg DELIVERED. Beyond the execution of the night, Greg and the team at Beat Train were super professional and flexible. We had Greg as our wedding DJ and he was amazing! He really hit it out of the park and we couldn’t be happier. We had a pretty small wedding and not all the guests were that into dancing, but he still managed to keep the dance floor going the whole night. He also was able to play our “must-plays” at times when my husband and I were around, since we were in and out of the dancing area talking to other guests. Also, I didn’t think I would really care that much about the music during the cocktail hour and dinner, but somehow that was really spot on and I have some really happy memories listening to his great choices while eating dinner. He was also very accommodating with some last minute requests, both from me and a guest. I would definitely recommend spending some time filling out the DJ form – there are a lot of questions, but I think it helped make everything go very smoothly on the day. Overall I couldn’t recommend Greg and Beat Train more highly.
We chose Beat Train Productions for our wedding, and we couldn’t recommend them highly enough. My fiancé and I didn’t want a cheesy DJ. We knew that good music and a great DJ is often what guests enjoy most at a reception. Our dance floor was packed from the second it opened to the very end of the night, and our DJ, Greg, deserves all of the credit. Beat Train was incredibly professional and attentive from our first phone call. From our meetings with him, Greg did a great job figuring out our music style. He offered suggestions, and was so helpful when it came to answering all of our questions. The music he played felt like we picked it ourselves, even though we gave him very few specifications. Greg even helped us coordinate a dance floor surprise for our friends’ one-year wedding anniversary. One of the most frequent comments we’ve heard from our guests since our wedding has been “your DJ was amazing, I had so much fun- and it was so you!” Greg is excellent reading the crowd. He was fantastic when it came to playing music that appealed to all guests. We’ve already recommended Beat Train (and Greg specifically) to several people. Our friend loved the music and dancing at our wedding so much, she already booked Beat Train for her wedding next year. My fiance and I worked with Beat Train in Boston for our wedding last month and we highly recommend them … especially our DJ!!! We chose Greg Lanzillotta and he was fantastic. My fiance and I are not huge music lovers so we were pretty vague with the specifics on what we wanted played, but Greg was able to get an idea of what we were looking for and had the entire wedding on the dance floor for the entire night. He was amazing at feeling out the room, mixing songs that everybody would like and that had the same rhythm so there was no awkward pauses or transitions.
He also was as present as we needed him to be. So he made any announcements that we had talked about prior to the wedding, but was also just focused on playing awesome music and not trying to be the center of attention and “out there”.

Greg Lanzillotta DJ’ed our wedding and KILLED IT. We had been told by so many people to go with a band but we knew the right DJ would be SO much better, and Greg made us look good by delivering on that promise. We worked with Greg for our wedding reception at a museum venue in Boston. From start to finish, working with Greg & the Beat Train staff was top notch! Greg was our DJ for our July wedding and we could not be happier with the job we did. People are still commenting to us a month later on how great he was. My husband and I stressed a lot about finding our DJ. We don’t have typical taste per se and are both really into music ranging from 80s to grunge to indie/electronic dance music. Of course, we also wanted all of our guests to have a good time. Greg took all of our interests and blended them perfectly so that everyone from our late 20s/early 30s friends through my 86 year old grandmother had a blast dancing. We sent Greg a long “maybe play list” (rather than a long “must play list”) because we wanted to him to have a good sense of what we liked but also for him to retain creative control. This worked absolutely perfectly for us and we think heard most – if not all – of our “maybe” songs throughout the night. Thanks to Greg, much of the reception felt like a real dance party more than a wedding which is exactly what we wanted!
Greg and Ari were both super nice via email and phone, and we never felt pressured in any way. We felt we had their respect, and we were so happy to have found a wedding DJ vendor that understood our taste. In person, Greg had a cool, subtle demeanor on the mic, did classy introductions and nothing cheesy at all!

My husband and I were extremely satisfied with Beat Train and would highly recommend them. DJ Greg was very professional in all our interactions, from when we first booked him to the day of our wedding. Greg played music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing during the reception. Several months beforehand, we received a detailed list of requests for music for the different portions of the evening. We really enjoyed the chance to discuss our choices with Greg (about a month prior to the wedding), and he really put us at ease at a time when we were freaking out a bit about many of the details.
We had picked out specific music for the ceremony, but Greg had some great suggestions for the pre-ceremony music (which we hadn’t even thought about). Greg provided a microphone for the ceremony, and the ceremony went off without a hitch. We selected a few genres of music as well as a few individual songs for the cocktail hour and dinner. Greg mentioned that our choices were pretty similar to the music he liked, and we thought he did a great job for those portions of the evening. Greg also played the music we had requested for cake cutting and dances and did a great job for the introductions to the reception.
The dancing part of the reception was a definite highlight. We had only given Greg a few “must play,” “maybe play,” and “do not play” songs, but he did a fabulous job of not only playing music that we enjoyed but also reading the crowd. Several people commented to us afterwards that they had never been to a wedding where so many people were on the dance floor. Toward the end of the evening, he played a great medley of 90’s rap and hip-hop that we had never discussed but was absolutely perfect at the time.
Overall, we would highly recommend Beat Train, and particularly DJ Greg, for any wedding or similar event.
Greg Lanzillotta was an AMAZING DJ from start to finish. We have nothing but great things to say about him and Beat Train, but I’ll try to summarize. We had our wedding in what I like to call “normal people Cape Cod” (i.e. we are not millionaires) and had kind of hit a wall with the DJ search: every DJ service was either incredibly expensive, involved brass instruments (?!), or both. I think we literally Googled “wedding DJ no line dances” and Beat Train came up in the search. We really liked Greg’s musical style and saw that he had tons of good reviews, and within a couple of days of contacting Beat Train, we got a response and got our contract underway.
Greg’s number and email address are at the top of the contract, just to give you an idea of how available he made himself. We had no clue where to start, but Beat Train sent us a kind of music-preferences worksheet, which we completed with Greg’s help. He met up with us in person around Easter weekend and was so pleasant, professional, and patient, giving us suggestions, listening to the music we pulled up on YouTube that he hadn’t heard before (e.g. contemporary Italian pop music), and helping us think through how (and if) we wanted do parent dances, a first dance, etc. In the end, he somehow magically read our minds and synthesized everything we were babbling about (no raunchy rap, no slow dances, specific announcements to do and not to do, etc.) and pulled off a PERFECT blend of everything.
Our 12×12 dance floor in my parents’ back yard was packed the whole night (four straight hours, no joke), from the end of the first dance all the way through to the end-of-night song. He also did the ceremony music (processional and recessional songs), the music for the cocktail hour, and collaborated with the people who (unbeknownst to the groom and me) wanted to give speeches. It’s now been three weeks since our wedding and we keep hearing from guests that it was the best time they’ve ever had. Totally worth it!!
We booked Greg Lanzillotta through Beat Train Productions for our wedding reception. He was a perfect fit for our style! We didn’t do a lot of the typical wedding reception things like bridal party introductions or cake cutting ceremonies so we really just wanted good music. He did a fantastic job of fitting the music with the mood throughout the night, playing a lot of our indie recommendations during dinner and then ramping up to dancier music after the parent dances.
Greg did a phenomenal job of reading the room and keeping the dance floor going the rest of the night. Both my husband and I have somewhat strange musical tastes so we were incredibly happy we deferred to him for the dance portion because he picked songs that neither of us would have known to pick but were still in line with our style. Our guests loved it and were dancing all night long. I’ve been to weddings where the DJ’s keep getting on the mic to tell people to get to the dance floor or go around and drag people up.

To put it simply, Greg Lanzillotta from Beat Train was amazing. My goal was to have as many guests dancing for as long as possible and Greg more than delivered. Like many reviewers, we chose Beat Train because of the promise of great music, a rockin dance floor and no “wedding DJ” shenanigans. DJ Greg Lanzillotta (Boston location) did not disappoint! Planning from out-of-town, we “met” over the phone initially and had a Skype session a few weeks before the big day to discuss details. We’re not die-hard music folks and just gave Greg some basic style guidelines (classical before the ceremony, jazz during dinner, and then pump up the dance floor) and a few key songs. For the ceremony, Greg had brought us a microphone to use but actually suggested we go without it as our space was small – I decided to trust his acoustic expertise and it worked perfectly.
Throughout the night he took our “do not play” list seriously and served as master of ceremonies to make announcements for speeches, cake cutting, etc. I had so many guests exclaim “hey, that’s my favorite song!” whether it was some smooth background music or top hits, and the dance floor was packed until the end of the night. No cheesy games, just great music.
In our search for a “chill”, not over-the-top DJ, we were so happy when we found Greg! He was super responsive through out our planning and offered great suggestions and feedback on our musical plans.

I can’t say enough positive things about Greg. From the beginning he was easy to deal with and accommodating to all of the weird requests we had. Even on the day there were some last minute changes and he adapted in stride. I’ve been to many weddings, and I’ve never been to one with the dance floor as consistently filled as this one. There was a large age range of guests, many of them music snobs, and they all complimented me on the choices and range that he played. The transitions were great, the occaisional brief mashups were choice, and he even got all the grandparents and quiet nerds up on the floor. The only downside was that our venue had to shut down at 11:30 (thanks, Boston!), otherwise we would have kept dancing all night.

We first saw Beat Train a month before our wedding and was astonished at how a DJ could make a wedding unbelievable with beats for all ages that moved so smoothly in an out of each other. Our DJ had big shoes to fill and we hoped our wedding was going to be as much fun. Unfortunately, our [previously booked] DJ exhibited so much unprofessionalism in the last few weeks before our wedding that we decided that it was better to cancel and try to figure out a new DJ than to engage them for the most special day of our lives. One of my bridesmaids was the bride at the wedding the month before and when I explained my predicament she got Ari on the phone. He understood our huge problem and made numerous phone calls on our behalf and introduced us to Greg. Beat Train was so accommodating and kind while assuring us that they should be the least of our worries. Greg was able to work with us and make recommendations based on our style and taste of music while still considering our audience. He was able to answer questions at night and over the weekend so that we could pack months worth of information into a couple of days. They took a near no-DJ-disaster wedding to an amazing party from ceremony to last song. There are no words that can describe what they were able to do in less than a couple of weeks that led to an unbelievable time. Neither of us could thank them or recommend them more for their professionalism, their passion for music and true desire to make sure every single person at the venue had a good time based on their musical preferences. My husband and I booked Beat Train after doing a lot of research. We had a “wedding celebration” on NYE so we wanted a fun DJ without the traditional wedding stuff. Greg was fantastic! Greg from Beat Train was an incredible partner on our wedding day. He was focused on the atmosphere we wanted to create for a fairly small but diverse group of wedding guests – from kids to older adults. We had a jazz quintet for our cocktail hour, and Greg did such a great job transitioning live music to great music for dinner. My husband and I were nervous that people might not dance because our venue space was so large, but Greg had every single person on the dance floor all night long. We had Greg at Beat Train DJ our wedding as he also DJ’d my sisters wedding and did a fantastic job. Of course he gave us repeat service for our own special day. Everything was perfect and he was extremely helpful leading up to the wedding as well with suggestions, and clarifications, and asking what we want to happen, including bringing things to our attention that we might not have thought of yet.
You might think that you can save a few bucks by hiring the local kid from your neighborhood as a DJ and have him bring his laptop and itunes…that couldn’t be further from the truth. I have been to other weddings where that happened and there are so many more things that separate real and amateur DJ’s and set the tone for the night. If you want your night to be perfect, skimping out on the DJ is not what you want to do. You want a professional and these are the people to call.
We hired Greg Lanzilotta from Beat Train to DJ our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made. Greg new exactly how to work the room and kept us dancing all night. I am serious. I could not walk for three days after! As a self-proclaimed music aficionado and dancer, the music aspect of our wedding was of utmost importance to me. I wanted the night to flow smoothly, bringing parents and grandparents in and then ramp up the dance party. We were looking for a non-cliche DJ set that was fun and fresh…and Greg DELIVERED. Beyond the execution of the night, Greg and the team at Beat Train were super professional and flexible. They took into account all our needs and music goals and have an incredible system in place to make sure our night went flawlessly. We could not recommend the company and Greg enough.
DJ Greg Lanzillotta will ROCK your party! He knows exactly how to read the crowd and how to keep your guests dancing all night long! He’s not overbearing at all but is always willing to adjust and step in when and where you need him. Excellent selection of tunes and a super gentleman to deal with. It was a pleasure! If you want your guests to remember how much fun they had at your event, this is your guy, for sure!
We absolutely loved DJ Greg! He did everything at our wedding–the ceremony music, cocktail hour music, MC’d the reception, and kept the dance floor pulsing til the very end of the night!!! He was also incredibly well-prepared and communicative throughout the process. Greg’s MC style was perfect for us, he was clear and organized, while staying lowkey and not dominating the night. When it came to the dancefloor, he knew exactly what to play. Greg perfectly mixed our requests with similar music we wouldn’t have thought of that kept everybody dancing! So many of our guests told us it was the best dancefloor they’ve seen at a wedding. You won’t regret booking DJ Greg and Beat Train!
I can’t say enough about Beat Train and especially DJ Greg! Greg was professional and responsive throughout the entire planning process and helped with guidance on timelines, etc. Greg truly kept our dance floor alive for 4 hours…no one left the dance floor and he played such a great variety to keep all ages dancing and having fun! I highly recommend booking Greg for any wedding or party, our guests can’t stop talking about how great he was!
When looking for a DJ for our wedding who walked the fine line between laid back and upbeat, we did not expect to find someone who matched what we were looking for. And yet somehow, Greg Lanzillotta perfectly fit the bill! Professional, calm, and easy to work with, he stepped up into the role of emcee with ease. Not only did our musical tastes overlap a fair bit, but his energy level was perfect for a smaller wedding of ~60 people. He kept our guests dancing all the way until the end of the night, and played a good mix of material for both our younger guests and parents/family.
Greg L. was our DJ and he was phenomenal. From the planning phase to get to know our music tastes and show us how to us the online planning portal to the actual wedding day music and logistics, everything was so smooth. Greg did a great job getting everyone out on the dance floor, making sure the music wasn’t too loud (a huge priority for us!), and blending in surprise songs for our friends. He was so easy to work with, gave us great guidance, asked good leading questions, and made our day so fun! He even added an extra song before the last song of the night because my husband and I hadn’t heard it yet and it was a fun surprise for our friends!
When looking for a wedding DJ, we were really nervous. We were so happy we found Beat Train, and that we got to work with Greg L. The whole process of working with Beat Train on covering the basics and selecting a DJ that fit with our style was very easy, and the whole team are very communicative. Once we met Greg, we knew we had made the right decision- he is incredibly friendly and easy to work with, and honestly helped plan the entire event! He asked us about every detail, including many things we had not even thought to plan. The consultations helped us visualize the whole day- from the steps of the ceremony, to the details of each part of the reception- and I am so thankful for the help. Choosing music was also very straightforward, and we were able to have as much input as we wanted. We put together playlists for each part of the day, and Greg did a fantastic job understanding the vibe we were going for and adding in his own complimentary selections. He truly did such an amazing job, there was never a lull on the dancefloor, and he even got the shyest among our guests dancing! I cannot recommend Beat Train and Greg L enough- if you have the opportunity, hire him!
