Joe Lopez DJ’d our wedding, at Brooklyn Winery in September of 2021. Joe met with my husband and I prior to our event, looking for our main songs (walk down the aisle, first dance, parent dances, etc), and asked for details on the different moments of our evening. He worked with us to curate the perfect blend of jazz/Motown for cocktail hour, instrumental for dinner, and focused on transition music between courses.
We were clear with Joe that, given we had to postpone our wedding and covid caused a hell of a year for everyone, our main goal was to throw a big party for all of our friends and family; we wanted a dancing, singing, fun, party vibe. We asked that the majority of our night was spent on the dance floor and we wanted to included all of our diverse guests. We had guests from the Bay Area who wanted Hyphy music… my husband is Latino so we wanted Latin music… me and my girlfriends are from the epitome of boy-band era… Joe catered to every group. I was expecting that there would be a few guests who would absolutely not dance that evening, but every single one of our guests was busting a move at some point during the night, and it is all thanks to Joe.
He also took a few requests from me during the evening, and he threw some of his own flare and music into the mix; he’s laid back and flexible and truly wants his guests to have a great time. I thought that he read the room intuitively all evening to make sure that no song went unresponsive.
Most of all – and no questions asked – Joe respected our wishes on our ‘no play list’.
He was truly a pleasure to work with and he is the reason we will look back on our special day knowing that all of our guests will remember our wedding!
We hired DJ Joe Lopez from Beat Train for a wedding in Riverhead. Working with Beat Train was a pleasure from the start – it was very helpful to have preview mixes of the various DJs posted to the Beat Train website, which assisted in selecting the ideal person for our event. We decided upon Joe based on these mixes, and he was a pleasure to work with. He reached out several times in the weeks leading up to the wedding to make sure we understood what would happen the day of, and to make sure we were all on the same page in terms of what music we needed. During the wedding, Joe provided exactly the type and variety of music we wanted, and moreover was extremely professional, calm, and attentive to our needs. He handled introductions and toasts easily and unobtrusively. Most importantly, the dance floor was constantly packed once we got past dinner, and our friends had a blast – several inquired as to the DJ’s identity as they began thinking about their own weddings. We would wholeheartedly recommend Joe, and thus Beat Train, to anyone else.

From the start Beat Train was a great choice. Their customer service is top notch and we were never left wondering about anything. They had a variety of talent to pick from and we were matched with Joe who was phenomenal. He was available to answer any questions and he understood our musical preferences with such ease. Five stars!!! I really liked working with Beat Train leading up to my wedding. They were always very accessible via email and answered my questions promptly. Joe Lopez was our DJ and he really delivered. He was organized, personable, available to chat, thoughtful, and kind and then when it came time for the party, he knocked it out of the park! With our wedding, we did dinner, then dancing, and as soon as the dancing portion started, Joe kept everyone going for song after song after song. It was incredible. I also had a few very specific requests and he bent over backwards to make them work. Highly recommend.
Beat Train was awesome to work with from the beginning! We were so happy we chose Joe to be our wedding DJ. He was always attentive and responsive to all our calls and emails throughout the process. Beat Train is an awesome company. Being a picky bride, I did countless hours of research on vendors. I interviewed several companies and Beat Train won our hearts. My husband and I listened to all the DJs they offered and we loved Joe Lopez’s style of music. We worked with Elissa on the contract and services. We booked the uplighting and photobooth services. I had a million questions and everyone at Beat Train were responsive. We took the time to interview Joe on the phone and we connected very well with him. He understood the type and style of music we are looking for. A month prior to the wedding, he provided a document for a must-play list. Joe also provided music suggestions. On the day of the wedding, we made a couple of changes and Joe was so accommodating. Joe executed the songs beautifully from the ceremony to the first dance to the wedding cake cutting ceremony. Our families and friends commented on the music selection from the cocktail hour to the reception. Our families are normally shy on the dance floor but surprisingly, Joe was able to attract them to the dance floor. We were all dancing all night long. I am grateful of having Joe as our DJ and Beat Train as our vendor. Truly talented and professional.
We really enjoyed having Joe Lopez DJ our wedding at The W Loft in Williamsburg, Brooklyn last September. He got everyone dancing from the start which was awesome. It can be hard to get people dancing at weddings (due to different styles, ages, tastes, etc) but he really got the crowd to dance together which was so much fun! We had a wonderful experience working with DJ Joe Lopez and Beat Train for our wedding in October 2016! We felt great about our decision to work with Joe right from our first call. He was laid back, had excellent taste in music, and was interested in getting to know us and our vision for the wedding. Joe Lopez was our DJ. Was great with direction and research. He worked with me on creating a cocktail hour mix for a Classy Halloween wedding, helped pull together a great reception mix and also did great announcement segments. He was very focused in executing a great time and was friendly and talented. I would hire Joe again in a heartbeat.
The feedback I got from the attendees was it was the meat wedding music mix they have ever heard and that was great to hear since the crowd was so diverse!
Music was a very important part of our wedding, so picking a DJ was a tough decision – we came across Beat Train and i’m SO GLAD. In searching, we wanted an unobtrusive DJ who wasn’t all about the top 40 and didn’t need any of the extras – lights, party favors, etc. Beat Train has a team of a few DJs and will work with you to figure out which one will suit the feel of your wedding best. We were recommended Joe Lopez and, they absolutely nailed it! Joe was awesome throughout the planning process, and even though I was quite picky about the music I wanted played, he obliged every request and then some (we are huge Phish fans and he had no issue working with us on certain show recordings and mixing it in with the rest of the music!) and the songs that he chose were right in line with what we wanted! Our guests absolutely LOVED the music, and the party on the dance floor rarely stopped which is exactly what we were hoping for! We had Joe Lopez as our DJ for my 40th birthday party this past weekend, and I could not have been happier with our choice! As all I really wanted to do was dance, as far as I was concerned, he was the party. I had given a long list of songs that I wanted to be played beforehand to make sure that favorites were included. Not only did he of course play the requested items, but understood my tastes enough to bang out SO many more of my faves that I had actually forgotten all about, and definitely had forgotten to list.
He completely had a handle on our taste, and executed everything seamlessly. He was also reliable, responsive beforehand, and could not have been more easy going and pleasant to work with. I cannot recommend Joe more highly! AMAZING, AMAZING DJ!!
We selected Joe Lopez to DJ our wedding this past September. Joe’s music kept all my guests up and dancing. One of my girlfriends who had been to a wedding the weekend immediately before our wedding told me that our wedding was so much more fun than the previous one.
We had so much fun and I think the music had a great deal to do with that. Although we did miss a few formalities (we almost forgot the parent dances and we didn’t do the hora (Jewish wedding celebration dance)) I think it is because we too busy having fun! Joe helped us create a great and fun party for which we are very grateful!
Tied the knot this July 2nd. My wife and I had booked DJ Joe Lopez!!! I had booked Beat Train about 6 – 7 weeks before the wedding. I consider myself a tough cookie when it comes to selecting vendors. I have to say when i was considering Beat Train productions, they were the most professional company i had dealt with in the selection process. When i submitted an initial request, I was contacted immediately and i recall that Beat Train had an on line system for making an appointment to speak to someone about selecting one of their DJs.From the first call, i was very impressed with the overall enthusiasm the company had and the ability to answer all of my questions.
I was impressed with Beat Train’s website which had videos of their DJs in action. They even had videos of them making announcements so you get a feel of how they would perform at your wedding. And if there were not videos, they did their best to direct me to another source that would have a sample of the DJ performing.
After speaking with at least 4 DJ companies, it was easy and a no brainer to select Beat Train. DJ Joe Lopez was excellent weeks before the wedding, answering any and all questions and just open and accommodating to requests.
The day of the event was flawless. I had two wedding assistants who i hired directly to work at the reception and the church for the ceremony. The reception was flawless! Joe is just overall professional. He had my people dancing and everything just seemed to flow and was without hiccups.
I would strongly recommend Beat Train and most importantly DJ Joe Lopez. Beat Train runs a class act and deep down I believe you cant go wrong with any of their DJs.

Joe Lopez was an amazing DJ for our wedding. From the very beginning, setting up a time to meet and discuss our vision of the big day, Joe (and the whole Beat Train team) was extremely professional, attentive, and incredibly easy to talk to. We thought our taste in music was a little eclectic, if not a bit strange, but Joe immediately understood our vibe. He set a really good tone for our wedding planning, reminding us that our guests would pick up on our energy, and to enjoy the process.
Fast forward to weeks before the wedding, where we had our follow-up interview. I had been dreading the nitty-gritty details of connecting Joe with our venue, so imagine my delight when Joe told us that he’d already connected with them on his own time and had everything taken care of. AMAZING! He guided us through our song selections, but thanks to his expertise, we didn’t have to set up a whole playlist or anything— he just *got* it.
On the wedding day, the music was on point. The speeches were exactly when we wanted them, and the dance floor was packed the entire night. (We actually broke the floor at one point—I blame Michael Jackson for this.) He even had the wedding guests in their ’60s and ’70s rocking HARD. (We’re lucky we didn’t have a broken hip, too!)
I’d recommend Joe and the Beat Train team to anyone and everyone I know.
We got married this past month and DJ Joe Lopez was by far the MVP of the afternoon. He was the most responsive, prompt, flexible, and amazing vendor we worked with! Aside from the fact that he had our music style down to T and had everyone of all ages of the dance floor non-stop, he was also able to in the moment take notes from our best man who put forth the most epic speech with music from his girlfriends iphone. There were several times where he played some of our favorite songs and we didn’t even put them on our must play list.
I had a friend MC the afternoon for me and it wasn’t decided until the day of but Joe worked seamlessly with him. I can’t say enough that he was the DJ of wedding day dreams. When planning my big day I had 3 priorities : 1. Music 2. Food 3. Venue and he beyond surpassed expectations.
I could not recommend Joe Lopez from Beat Train in NY enough!! We booked him from the reviews online. We met him over skype and spoke to him on the phone a few times. We didn’t actually meet in person until our wedding day because we planned our wedding from out of town. He is really professional and easygoing. He played all the songs we asked him to, keep the party going, read the crowd well, and he made great announcements. He was a laid-back DJ, which was great for us, because we didn’t want some crazy hype man. We had a daytime wedding with a lot of dance music.
We had a Russian-Jewish and African-American wedding and the music we represented our cultures well. Joe played the hora, and we sent him MP3s of a few Russian songs which he played. We also had a good bit of Motown. Joe also did a great job with the timing of music for the ceremony. The dinner and cocktail hour music was also great. Beat Train gives you a form to fill out, which was really easy and helped us organize what we needed. I would recommend trusting Joe and not putting in too many must-play requests in advance. It helps him read the crowd and play what will keep people on the floor.
Joe is a super nice guy as well. He came to the wedding looking very professional and formal in a nice suit, which was great since we had a fairly formal wedding. All in all, I would say that Joe Lopez was an amazing DJ. I highly recommend him for your wedding or other celebration.
We are so, so glad that we picked Joe Lopez as our wedding DJ. From the beginning of the process to the end, he was incredibly professional, flexible, and responsive. Our dance floor was filled from the beginning of each of his sets to the end – he did an amazing job of reading the room and picking the perfect songs while still incorporating our unique tastes and traditions. Our wedding was American/Sri Lankan/Catholic/Jewish, but Joe handled our unique cultural traditions, backgrounds, and needs with flying colors.
We started out with a fantastic hora (Jewish dance), followed by some great Sri Lankan baila songs that had our uncles and aunts tearing up the dance floor. After that he moved into more contemporary songs that reflected our tastes while still keeping the crowd going. We were very impressed by his ability to handle our uniquely international/eclectic wedding. Everyone from both sides of the family (and both sides of the world) loved, loved, loved the music.
We honestly can’t rave about Joe enough – he was simply the best. You won’t regret booking him for your wedding!

My DJ was Joe Lopez. Very good DJ. Not your typical wedding DJ that plays only top 40 hits. I requested some early 90’s rap, and he delivered. LOVED it. I even gave him an extra tip because of it. Yes, it was that good.
Enough good can’t be said about Beat Train Productions and our DJ Joe Lopez. Organized, early, super responsive and accommodating as a DJ, and in general. I could go on but the bottom line is the floor was packed all night and the wedding was too much fun because of Joe’s DJ skills. Great guy, great DJ, great company.

We went with Beat Train initially for a few reasons — they were responsive immediately to our inquiry, well rated, and reasonably priced. We met our DJ, Joe Lopez, one Saturday in Grand Central for coffee and discussion. After about a half hour, it was clear that he understood our needs and concerns. My fiance is a huge music buff, and we knew we’d have a crowd at the reception who wanted to DANCE! Joe definitely knew his stuff, and discussed the importance of playing to the crowd to keep the party going. Joe was extremely responsive during our planning process, including via email and Skype, and was very patient as we edited and sent in our requests and play lists. In the end, the party was amazing and everyone complimented us on an awesome dance party! Beat Train and Joe were great, we had such a great time!
Joe Lopez was incredible! He and the entire team were such a pleasure to work with. Joe was extremely generous with his time. He listened intently to my song requests and played all of them. He honestly played exactly what I would have wanted without having much guidance at all. I still cannot believe how he made such a flawless line up of songs–as I am a bit picky about my music selection! I did not want a dj to play cheesy songs or to have a cheesy set up or presentation. Beattrain and Joe made it clear that this was their approach/aesthetic which put me at ease. Joe was really nice and reassuring and had so much to offer. He was incredibly flexible and as someone (me) who didn’t know exactly what I wanted (and had little time to dedicate to making song choices, etc.) Joe made it incredibly easy by providing song lists as soon as I asked for them and being available on the phone to talk whenever. He even reached out to my venue organizer to make sure he had the ‘lay of the land’ on his own volition. He came to the venue to set up way in advance even though he wasn’t due to start playing until after dinner. He did this so the guests would not see him set up. This is a detail that I forgot about until a week before the wedding. When I called him to say ‘(gulp) can you come much earlier than you actually are scheduled to begin playing?’ he assured me that he had already thought all of this out and he was planning to come very much in advance at no added cost.
Joe is very detail oriented and responded very clearly to all of my little questions. When I called him with a million questions very close to the wedding he bent over backwards to assure me that he had everything under control and gave me a run down as to his game plan so that I knew I had nothing to worry about. Joe is the best deal around! I recommend him wholeheartedly.
I was super stressed about picking music for our wedding because we had left it to the last minute, but Joe reassured me that it would all go smoothly and he would take care of everything. His confidence definitely calmed my nerves (for the moment – ha) and I felt like he really understood the type of music we wanted for each part of the day. He talked to my husband about it more in depth, since that was more his specialty, but every time I had a question for Joe, he got back to me with an answer immediately, which I really appreciated.
The day before the wedding, Joe came to the venue and met with our rental vendor to talk about where to set up his station and wire the equipment. He stayed to make sure everything worked after I needed to leave to go do other errands, which I felt like was more than he needed to do, but of course it made me feel so much better knowing he would take care of everything. Then on the wedding day, our rental vendor didn’t have the sound equipment and generator set up in time for the outdoor ceremony (I found this out later), but Joe helped fix everything at the last minute so our keyboardist had power for when I walked down the aisle and then he played our exit song and started it at the exact right time.
His reception music helped everyone move seamlessly from cocktails to dinner and dancing. Joe also stepped in as MC when needed, introduced the speakers for toasts, and got people out on the dance floor. He played a mix of old-school songs and pop/dance – exactly what I wanted. Plus he took requests which turned into a battle between our East Coast and West Coast friend, but it was so fun and a great party atmosphere. Overall, it was just a really wonderful day, and Joe played a major role in that. I’d definitely recommend him!!
Joe was amazing. The night of the wedding, and afterward, we received more positive comments about the music than anything else (by far!). We asked him to incorporate Arabic music into his set, and he did it flawlessly. He studied the music we gave him and understood exactly when to play it, and for how long.
The music never got stale and everyone had a blast throughout. The dinner music was excellent as well. Joe did such a great job interpreting our musical tastes and playing exactly what we wanted to hear. We trusted him to make the right calls, and he definitely did. He’s also just a great guy and super easy to work with. Non-intrusive, not cheesy, and very professional. I would recommend Joe to anyone looking for a DJ for any event, especially if you’re into soul/funk/hip-hop/r&b. He made our night!
My husband and I hired Joe Lopez to DJ our beach wedding in Mexico and could not have been happier!! Joe is everything you could ask for in a DJ. He is professional, sweet, extremely flexible, beyond knowledgable about music, very adaptable to any song list you present to him and most importantly… knows how to BRING THE HOUSE DOWN!! The guests at our wedding hit the dance floor at 8:00pm and literally did not stop until 1:00am, when we were basically told by the venue we could not dance any longer. Being an event producer in luxury fashion, I am extremely particular about the vendors I work with and I would 100% hire Joe Lopez again for any number of events. He is amazing and you will not be disappointed.

Back when I was a DJ, Joe was one of the guys that I always looked to when trying to hone my own skill set. We used to always go to the record show they had every month in midtown Manhattan, and afterwards we would always go back to his ‘lab’ and start playing whatever we picked up that day. I’ve always had the utmost respect for Joe, he played the best music and was downright cool. Once I hung up my headphones and moved onto the Fashion World at Laird and Partners, I asked him if he’d be willing to DJ my company’s holiday party. The match was perfect. He played music that fit everyone’s style. He played a few of our parties, unfortunately, however, in the hard economic climate of the last few years, I hadn’t had the opportunity to use his services. When I moved over to Digital Evolution, I was tasked with finding a DJ to do our blowout bash for the 2012 holidays, and my first phone call was to Joe. As always, he showed up on time, played the best music and I think the venue may have even asked him to come back on their dime! All of my clients that came to our party were incredibly happy with the music he played, and some noticed how much he paid attention to how the crowd was responding to his flow of things. I am very confident that thanks to Joe, I will be gaining more business from my clients this year. Joe has always been my go-to guy and there’s a reason for that – he’s the best, hands down.

We had such a great experience with Joe Lopez. He was so accommodating in the planning phase and even before the reception, played such a big role in our wedding ceremony (we had a seaplane entrance he had to time with Indiana Jones theme – he nailed it). The day would not have been the same without him!
Pre-pandemic we were paired with DJ Joe Lopez for our Brooklyn reception. We met in person, hit it off and decided to book. After all of our covid delays, we were fortunate that when we re-booked our date, Joe was still available. Out of all the stressors of re-planning, working with Joe was the easiest, and boy did he deliver! From the moment the party started he brought energy and didn’t stop for 6 hours, our guests raved about the dancing and his sets. During the party we experienced some hiccups and needed to reconfigure speeches and our first dance, and he was super helpful and accomodating. We book with Joe from Best Train. He was excellent. Great communication, reminded us weeks before the wedding when the playlists should be done. Even helped with adding music when some lists weren’t filled enough with curated picks that made the evening continue smoothly. Would recommend you listen to all the DJs music reels to get a feel who be best for you and your day but Joe was fantastic!

We had Joe as the DJ for our wedding in April. He was super helpful in the planning process, helping us to define our timeline to make sure we fit in all of the formal things like speeches, parent dances, etc. into a great evening of dances. We were on the exact same page about how the evening should look. He was extremely professional, keeping us on schedule and acting as the MC when needed while avoiding anything cheesey throughout the evening. We would 100% recommend Joe and Beattrain to anyone looking for a DJ to get people up and dancing during a wedding!
