Upstate New York Wedding Photos
DJ Ari Rosenfield had the honor of participating in the celebration of an Upstate New York Wedding in early August of last year. Photos by Boston based wedding photographer Ashley of Aodell.
The ceremony and reception both took place at the Darrow School, located on the site of an historic Shaker village in New Lebanon, NY. The scenery is absolutely stunning- complete with lush fields of lavender, mountainous backgrounds, forests, and a large open field perfect for a ceremony. Ashley definitely took advantage of all the beauty that this place had to offer! The couple was up for some frolicking through the lavender fields following the ceremony- and the images captured couldn’t be more beautiful!
Other than being an absolutely gorgeous location for a wedding- the Darrow School, and the community which it is in, is full of history. The Shakers headed to Mt. Lebanon in 1781 and established a self-sufficient farming community that is known for its seed enterprise and the quality of its hand-made furniture. The School occupies the central site of the Mt. Lebanon Shaker Village, a National Historic Landmark. Darrow School opened in the fall of 1932 as the Lebanon School for Boys, and today is a coed boarding and day school for grades 9-12.
