Beat Train Productions is happy to welcome Elissa, our newest DJ to the New York wedding and event DJ roster.

Elissa has been DJing and performing live since since her days as a high schooler in Chicago. Since then Elissa has traveled far and wide as a DJ and musician (with her band Kodacrome), and in the meantime earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Screenwriting from Loyola Marymount University.

Elissa has built her reputation blending the familiar with the obscure, maintaining an energetic indie electronic pulse throughout. Her sets aim to showcase something familiar, be it a beat or a lyric, along with something with which it may not be commonly paired, so you can dance guilt-free to your favorite Kylie Minogue hook, or even break a sweat to some nostalgic grunge. (Think The Smashing Pumpkins over Britney, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs with Daft Punk, or vintage LL over new Modeselektor). All of this is woven with the newest and catchiest remixes and original tracks from the world of underground electronica.

That said, Elissa is, above all, extremely organized and in touch with her clients’ preferences and needs (not to mention being excellent at reading the crowd), so if you are looking for a music selection that is less “edgy” and more “pop” / “classic” she is more than happy to accommodate.
