Flavya, or DJ FlavYa is a Brazilian-American dual-citizen DJ. Over the past twelve years, she has performed at many venues, festivals, private and corporate events. Her music style centers around classic Disco, Soul, Funk, Brazilian, Latin, World Music, Pop and other tropical swing & grooves. Throughout her career, Flavya has worked for numerous high-end clients, including Havaianas, Nike, Red Bull, Harley Davidson, Jeep, Mini Cooper, Yamaha, Privalia, and Risque. She has performed at many festivals and parties in Brazil and the United States, such as Carnaval for SESC in 2020, Coala Festival in São Paulo, also Festival Sonido in Belém, Marisco stage and Virada Cultural SP for Mareh, in 2019, Nublu Jazz Fest, RecBeat do Carnaval do Recife 2018, Menos 30 Fest, by Globo and Festival Vento in 2017 with other alternatives of Brazilian music, as well as “Baila” during “Floripa Tem” in Florianópolis, Wonderwheel Record’s holiday party, The Assemblage, The Good Room, Sultan Room, Kingston Club, amongst others.

Born in Europe, raised in both the United States and Brazil, Flavya is no stranger to multicultural experiences, living in diverse neighborhoods and being exposed to many different music communities. She currently resides in New York City. In 2009, while she was pursuing her bachelor’s degree in business administration at Manhattan College, she saw an online advertisement for the Scratch DJ Academy intensive DJ training course. Flavya saw it as an opportunity to pursue one of her life long dreams: the second she put her hands on the turntables she realized that she had discovered her true passion. This led her to study the art of mixing and scratching in NYC and after completing their program, she was invited to join the teaching staff.

She has since developed her own teaching programs for DJing and music production and continues to teach / mentor upcoming DJs independently and institution partnerships. Aside from performing and teaching, Flavya spends her time digging for 70s & 80s vinyl records, creating remixes and edits of classic tracks.
