My husband and I have been very slow to write this review––which I think is largely because it’s hard to express how grateful we are for the phenomenal job Ari did DJ’ing our wedding. (OK, maybe it’s also partly because we’re both in grad school, but still––it’s hard to find the words for all this gratitude!)
Our wedding was very much a passion project, and music was at the center of our vision for the day. We wanted to throw a beautiful, fun, unforgettable party for the people we love the most. And many of the people we love the most also LOVE music and LOVE to dance. Many of our friends are professional DJs, dancers and musicians, but we wanted everyone to get the chance to enjoy the music, so we brought in Ari to help make that happen. Needless to say, the bar was very, very high. Ari cleared it with room to spare. He channeled our wide-ranging tastes into some of the best hours of music I’ve ever heard. Ari is a bonafide music buff, which made talking to him about our vision so much fun. When there was one esoteric genre he didn’t know as much about, he researched it just for us.
Afterwards, so many people came up to ask about the cocktail hour music that he sent us a mix to pass along to our guests! Not only does that speak to the quality of the music he played, but it was so above and beyond in terms of customer service.
A note about BeatTrain: We first found Ari through a deep dive down a rabbit hole of online mixes that led us to his outstanding work. Then we realized he was also the mastermind behind BeatTrain Productions, which had nothing but glowing reviews. Everything these reviews said about BeatTrain Productions turned out to be true. They were the ultimate professionals––responsive, transparent, flexible and warm in all their interactions with us.
In summary, we just can’t recommend Ari or BeatTrain Productions enough! You’d be lucky to have them for your wedding!
DJ Ari Rosenfield and Beat Train Productions were the consummate professionals at our wedding this past May. From start to finish, DJ Ari was ultra-prompt in responding to questions, thoughtful in helping us decide what genres of music to use during each portion of the wedding, and ultimately, really cared about what we wanted and how to make our wedding exactly as we wanted it to be. DJ Ari provided both the personal touch as well as the professional skill and knowledge to truly make the job he did at our wedding perfect.
During the wedding, DJ Ari seamlessly played not only the genres/songs we had discussed, but smoothly blended in music to match the specific atmosphere of our wedding so that in the end, the music felt like an organic piece of the wedding as a whole. DJ Ari was great MCing the toasts, cake cutting, and all other verbal transitions and steps during the wedding. He was the right mix of engaging, while not overly drawing attention away from me and my beautiful bride (wife) on her special day. DJ Ari was also great with the kids – as kids are usually full of energy (which could be a negative at a wedding), DJ Ari funneled that energy into a positive use by showing the kids his turntables and how all the equipment worked. We have some gorgeous shots of DJ Ari with the kids having an awesome time.
All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better company to work with: knowledgeable, caring, sincere, professional, detailed, and most importantly, truly trying to tailor our wedding to be exactly how we had always envisioned it. Thank you so much DJ Ari and Beat Train Productions!
I wanted to walk into our reception to the “Coming to America” “Queen to Be” song. I was embarrassed even mentioning it, but Ari from Beat Train was like, “Cool. Would you be open to me mixing it with “Sprach Zarathustra?” Let’s just say, the end result was epic. Some guests cited our entrance song as their favorite part of the wedding. But it didn’t end there. After our initial meeting, Ari realized right away that we were a silly couple, and he thought it would be fun to throw TV theme songs into our cocktail hour music. So many friends came up to me later saying, I was just about to take a sip of my drink, and I was like, “Wait, is that the A-Team theme song?! I couldn’t stop laughing!”
Beat Train delivered in a way that a band never could. Ari made creative choices, and he worked with us, and the end result was fantastic. The dance floor was always full. I read so many Beat Train reviews prior to our wedding that said the oldest person and the youngest person could always be found on the dance floor, and that’s true! Beat Train makes everyone happy, especially the bride & groom!! BIG THANKS TO ARI & BEAT TRAIN!!
We were lucky enough to have Ari, the owner, DJ our wedding. We knew he was going to be very good, but the dance party he threw was such a rager!!!!!!! Parents, bridesmaids, guests of guests, everyone was covered in blissed-out sweat, begging for him to play overtime. Dancing is incredibly important to me, that’s why I’m reviewing that part first, but Ari delivered top-notch results in every category. He was organized, responsive, thoughtful, and professional. Most importantly, he read through our pages of song requests, and completely nailed our taste while keeping every generation dancing. He was kind but stern in turning down songs that were on our do-not-play list, which was wonderful. He also played a combination of recorded songs and his own mixes, and I’ve been listening to his mixes on repeat since the wedding. He is so good at what he does, both running a company and performing & recording as a DJ. Thank you Ari <3
Ari did a truly phenomenal job DJing our wedding. We set out — somewhat nervously — to try to find a DJ who was kind, smart, not flashy or cheesy and with excellent taste in music — and that’s exactly what we found in Ari. We gave him a detailed, idiosyncratic brief, and he absolutely nailed it. We can’t stress this enough: everyone of all ages was on the dance-floor the whole time, and countless people have since said how brilliant the music was.
Ari also did the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner — and it was all beautiful. He’s a lovely, humble, professional guy with impeccable taste and deep knowledge and love of music. We couldn’t recommend Beat Train highly enough.

We had Ari from Beat Train DJ our wedding and were extremely happy with the experience. Ari and Beat Train production were clear and efficient in all communication. We were able to speak to Ari on the phone before booking, met with him once prior to the wedding, and also spoke to him again immediately before the event. We found him to be knowledgeable and confident both of which reassured us. During the event itself Ari got our guests up and moving and we were happy to see that he appealed to a large age range. His mixes were creative but also accessible.
Ari was an awesome wedding DJ. We met with him before hand to discuss our music taste and requests. He was 100% professional and personable, my wife and I felt at ease talking with Ari. He was familiar with our reception venue and handled all communication with the venue event planner. We did not have to lift a finger, which is MUCH appreciated with all the other details we were juggling. Ari sent us a form in advance to fill out which covered all our “must play” and most importantly “must not play” list. In addition, the document asked about our music taste. At the event, Ari’s music choices hit the nail on the head. He was right on time with the old school, the upbeat dance music, the top 40’s and the slow dance music. He knew when the music should be lower and when it should be pumped up! The party was amazing and still being talked about among our friends and family.
The music can make or break an event, and in this case, it MADE the event. I am a music lover and needed the music to be on point- Ari hooked us up! He was also great making announcements and MCing when necessary. If you want an awesome DJ who is professional, wears a really nice suit, and pays close attention to details- go with Beat Train!
Ari is the best! I booked Ari after meeting with him and doing some research on other DJs. He’s much more low-key and completely understood that we wanted a DJ who could read a crowd and get people on the dance floor. We had a rather small wedding of about 65 people and people were on the dance floor the whole night. He catered to our tastes and always asked me before changing something in the timeline. I HIGHLY recommend Ari. I wish I could have another event just to have Ari DJ the wedding. You seriously can’t go wrong with him.
The music at our wedding was fantastic all thanks to Ari. We provided him with general information about our musical tastes and with this small amount of information he created a full-night’s worth of music that had guests from 20 to 60 years old dancing. After meeting with other DJs, we knew that Ari wasn’t going to employ any of the other cheesy tactics most wedding DJs do (gimmicks, props, etc).
Everyone keeps telling us how great the music was at our wedding and how much fun they had. The best part about having Ari as our DJ was that I didn’t have to worry about creating a long, detailed playlist. He knew what to play to keep the crowd on their feet for over 2 hours. To sum up, Ari killed it at our wedding.
After doing some research on the web we approached Ari because of the sample mixes he has posted on his website. My husband and I have somewhat eclectic tastes in music and it seemed he was exactly what we were looking for. We were right because he nailed it! Ari is extremely professional to work with and makes sure he understands what kind of music you’re looking for during each segment of the event. We didn’t have to bother with playlists or have to worry about any songs we didn’t like. The music he played throughout the entire evening was awesome and exactly what we wanted.
All night people kept coming up to us saying it was the best music they’ve ever heard at a wedding. Over a month after the wedding and we’re still receiving compliments on how great the DJ was. We highly recommend Beat Train Productions for any event!
We used DJ Ari and he was great. We had several meetings with him prior to the wedding so that he completely understood the type of music that we were looking for. During our wedding, he was very attentive to what we needed and extremely professional. He definitely kept our friends and family dancing all night. Ari was so easy to work with from the very first time we contacted him about our October 29, 2010 wedding. We had been to several wedding the year before and all the DJs had one thing in common… super cheesy games and corny wedding music. We were looking for the exact opposite and that’s exactly what Ari provided. Our guests keep telling us how much fun they had and how great the music was. Ari had everyone out of their seats dancing to some seriously amazing “mashups”. The planning and organizing process was painless and Ari was always easy to reach and prompt with responses. Ari was the best DJ! We even had comments from the venue staff that it was the best wedding music they had ever heard. My husband and I didn’t leave the dance floor and neither did our guests. Ari really kept an eye on the everyone’s mood, if a song had people slowing down, he mixed it up and changed pace. Beat Train is fantastic! Our friends’ band was kind enough to play two sets at our reception; where they left off, Ari picked up. He was excellent to work with from start to finish: professional, punctual, and detail-oriented. He was game to work around our band and came up with a set list that complemented their Brit-pop stylings. The dance floor was packed the entire night–a friend of ours actually danced the soles of his shoes clean off! Ari checked in with us through the evening if he had questions and did not make many announcements; he was very subtle. He played all of the songs we suggested during dinner (some of them obscure/eclectic) which made us feel like it was really “our” party. He also provided some uplighting.
Ari really understood our wacky/indie/obscure tastes and his work aligned with it perfectly. He did his homework on the styles of music we liked and played tunes that appealed to all ages of guests. I would recommend Ari and Beat Train without reservation!
The total opposite of the stereotypically loud, “cheesy” wedding DJ, Ari read the crowd perfectly and lined up music accordingly, rather than leading the crowd as some wedding DJs do. Aside from announcing the wedding party and letting everyone know that the cake was to be cut, there were no pleas to get people dancing, no YMCA or games. Some guests said it felt more like we were in a hip, loungy club rather than at a wedding. We received countless compliments from our guests on the music. He brought all of his own equipment and got there early to set up. Very professional. DJ Ari comes highly recommended!
When we were first looking for a DJ we were both amused and disturbed by what we saw; cheesy DJs with gaudy vests, touting their thirty years of radio experience, with videos of them exhorting wedding guests to do the chicken dance or the electric slide. This was not what either of us wanted for our wedding, and we were quite pleased to stumble upon the Beat Train Productions website and read the extremely favorable reviews.
Beat Train is simply the best. We hired Ari for our wedding and he had everyone on the dance floor. He was so considerate and in tune with our musical interests while still making sure the beats had enough universal appeal to even get Uncle Tom on the dance floor. He was extremely professional and didn’t have any of the cheesy gimmicks a lot of DJs use at weddings. He was very committed to not playing anything that was on our “do not play” list. We had a couple of guest come up to us and tell us that Ari needed our permission to play a couple of songs such as “Cotton Eyed Joe” or whatever that song is called. Ari arrived looking sharp in suit, skinny tie, and classic black framed glasses. He brought his turntable and his computer and set up everything very compactly in the corner. He has a natural read on the vibe and kept it going from immediately after dinner until they closed us down. Most impressive about Beat Train is Ari’s immediate responsiveness and willingness to meet and discuss any aspect of the party planning as many times as we needed to to feel comfortable. In short, if you want a DJ that you can trust that will keep your friends talking for months after the party, Ari is your guy.
The reason why I booked Ari was because he wasn’t your “typical” wedding DJ and understood my needs, as I wanted more of a party feel to my wedding than formal and stuffy. He totally exceeded my expectations, which were already set VERY high after being in the wedding industry for several years and working with so many DJs (AND, of course, after planning my wedding since forever ago!) He also provided great customer service (always remaining professional, prompt responses to emails, etc.), which was also very important to me as a bride managing so many responsibilities throughout the process. My husband (who doesn’t usually dance at weddings – he didn’t get off the dance floor!) and I had an amazing time dancing (my #1 priority) and so did our guests.
Ari Rosenfield is an amazing DJ. He worked with us to plan songs, special dances, coordinated the entire evening, even group photos during our Boston wedding reception. EVERYONE was on the dance floor and he read the crowd perfectly and played an amazing mix of songs. We could not have been more pleased. Everyone said that our wedding was the best one that they had ever attended, and the most fun.

Finding a DJ that fit our eclectic tastes, “indie” but also some top 40 and vintage jazz, was daunting. However, once I spotted Ari and heard the mixes on his blog, I knew the search was over. Ari and his assistant helped make our day incredible- though I didn’t make it to the cocktail hour, I could hear the tail end of the music floating upstairs while they were bustling my dress and it was exactly what I had imagined. The music throughout whole night was spectacular, and the songs he put together were so unexpected but they were absolutely perfect. My friends still remark what a great mix of styles and genres Ari crafted. People got out onto the dance floor who I’ve never seen dance! Ari was also very receptive to requests, and patient throughout the planning process. My husband and I are so grateful for having found Ari. Highly recommended!
