Richard Stanmeyer is a Hong Kong born, Boston-based DJ and trumpet player. With over 10 years of professional experience in the music industry, Richard’s career as a DJ and trumpet player is rooted in his international background.
Richard has lived in Hong Kong, Bali, and currently, in Boston. Each place has greatly influenced him to pursue music, their musical fingerprint providing a wealth of inspiration for Richard.
Beginning his musical journey on the trumpet at the age of 9, Richard delved into jazz as well as pop music, performing in cover bands throughout Massachusetts. In high-school, he began to DJ with fellow classmates. Those formative years paved Richard’s immense love and passion as a DJ and trumpet player.
Wanting to accelerate his DJ and trumpet playing skills, he started studying in 2018 at Berklee College of Music with a grant from the Presidential Scholarship Committee. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Music Business and Trumpet Performance in 2022.
While currently performing as an in-demand DJ and trumpet player in wedding bands throughout the Northeast, he also studies at New England Conservatory as a recipient of the Helena Foundation Presidential Scholarship in their Master of Music program as a trumpet performance major.
