Robert Allison is a Philadelphia based DJ and music producer. Robert’s musical journey began crafting bedroom mix-tapes as a kid. He soon progressed to lugging around crates of vinyl records to house parties in his young adulthood. As his skills and reputation expanded, Robert became a fixture in Philadelphia’s underground dance music scene, evolving into a technologically savvy record producer, underground dance music impresario, and DJ on the cutting edge. Meanwhile, he also kept himself busy studying music performance at Temple University. Over the years, as his record label has blossomed and his cult following has grown, Robert has played alongside a who’s who of DJ’s and electronic music artists, and has become a frequent performer at international festivals in the UK, Canada, Mexico, and Jamaica.
As a music lover and club DJ, Robert thrives exploring the inner depths of underground dance music, from house & techno; to downtempo, reggae, and dub. As a party rocking DJ, Robert thrives in using his musical background, crowd reading intuition and tight mixing skills to cross-over to the “pop” realm of DJ’ing. Robert is an in-demand DJ for corporate events and weddings where he seamlessly weaves together customized playlists that reflect the diverse tastes his clients (and their guests). Despite his origins in the musical underground, Robert is just as at home spinning anything from Motown, soul and, funk; to 80’s and 90’s party jams and hip hop anthems; to modern pop music. Or whatever you’re feeling!
In addition to being an aficionado of all things musical, Robert is an all-around nice guy, as well as a proud family man and “Snowboard Dad.” He is always willing to go the extra mile to understand your style and achieve your vision, while never losing focus of his goal to rock the party. We are thrilled to have him as a part of the Beat Train Philadelphia team!
Robert is happy to travel for bookings in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and NYC. Feel free to check out videos of Robert DJing below.
