Beat Train and my DJ Omari were great to work with. Omari has a professional and calm demeanor that puts you at ease during the planning process. The planning process was so easy that I kept worrying we were overlooking something. My fears were completely put to rest the day of the wedding. Omari was punctual and well prepared. I barely had to think about any of the sound logistics at all thanks to him, which is exactly what you want on the day of. As for the dance portion of the night, my wife and I had multiple guests approach us on the dance floor to tell us how great the DJ was. Our dance floor was packed the entire night. Afterwards many guests commented they had never been to a wedding with such a full dance floor for the entire reception. During the planning I gave Omari a few must play songs and he was able to build an hours long playlist with the exact vibe I wanted. You will not regret booking Omari.
Omari is a great DJ. He is super kind, responsible and responsive. He is a good communicator. During the whole wedding preparation and process, it’s super smooth. He also knows when and how to inject high energy into the dancing floor. Everyone love the music and the atmosphere he created. I can’t be happier to have him be our wedding DJ. Beat Train honestly put together the best process leading up to our event – communication was seamless, the questionnaire they had us fill out was so comprehensive and we felt so prepared and taken care of! And Omari DJ’d the best wedding dance floor we could have ever dreamed. We had an absolute blast, and so did everyone. We were hearing from friends for several weeks after about how epic the dance floor was! It was all thanks to Omari, reading the room, picking up on our must-plays and running with the perfect mix of throwbacks and hits, but nothing that felt too overplayed or cliché. He went above and beyond in so many ways. The lighting of the stage, the music that followed our guests from arrival, through cocktail hour, and into the reception. Omari cued up our speeches and dances at just the right time, wasn’t overly chatty on the mic, and even recorded our loved ones’ speech audio for us to have as a keepsake. Due to COVID, we had some last minute changes and were looking for a band about a month before our wedding date. Beat Train Productions was prompt and responsive – every couples dream when looking for a vendor in the midst of a pandemic. We quickly connected with Jake who helped make the process seamless (thanks Jake!!). From there we chose Omari for our big day and we are so grateful we did! Omari was fantastic! Omari is an incredible DJ. From the very start he was a super clear communicator and made the planning process very easy. His great organizational skills made sure our musical choices and tastes were apparent and understood before the event. He was by far the easiest vendor to work with during the whole planning process of our wedding. He setup the ceremony perfectly and in a way that was very clear for everyone to understand and use. Omari also has a superb ability at reading the dance floor and knowing what to play to keep everyone happy. We were all so impressed with how he was able to just know what to play us. The songs he played, many by his own intuition, will never be forgotten by so many people at our event because of just how perfect they were and the memories we made during them. DJ Omari was a pleasure to work with! We completed a worksheet to include all the must have and must exclude songs. He and his team provided the uplighting, music and photo booth with props for our 140 person wedding. When there was a bit of a mixup with our first dance, Omari quickly acknowledged it and worked hard to make the rest of the night flawless. To our surprise, he was able to coordinate playing a music set for a dance that some of our guests had created for us. He reads the dance floor very well, never keeping a song on too long or too short. Dancing was the thing I looked forward to most at our reception, and I did not leave the floor once. Omari was amazing! We discussed type of music ahead of time and he read our crowd well. He even was able to play some Scottish folk dances for our Scot contingent. The dance floor was packed the entire time, they wouldn’t let him leave at the end of the night.

Omari was the DJ at my wedding last month and I would recommend him to anyone else getting married in the Boston area. My wife knew Omari socially, so he came to mind quickly when searching for a DJ. After our initial chat with him, I knew that he would be great for our special day; he had worked for weddings with a range of styles and had a great demeanor for hosting events. He was organized in the weeks leading up to the event, as we went through the run-of-show and song preferences. I appreciated his responsiveness to my questions, both via email and phone, right up to the night before. At the wedding, the logistics went smoothly and his mix of music was the perfect range of styles. He showed up on time and worked with our event coordinator to set up his equipment in a way that could handle the multiple rooms used during our event. I was moved to hear all the songs my wife and I had spent the previous weeks selecting. During the cocktail hour and dinner, he selected just the right ambient music and handled the logistics of our speeches well. Several people commented on how much they enjoyed the music after the reception: a mix of 90’s hits with a splash of Bollywood. After giving Omari a representative list of songs (as well as a “do not play” list), he did a perfect job of filling in the rest and had people dancing all night. Overall, the music added an additional dimension of meaning to the event, largely thanks to Omari. I highly recommend him as a DJ.
Omari was awesome! If you are are on Insta, Finsta or Snap, you could see 100 kids totally jamming out with him. He was totally professional, very helpful and considerate, and EXTREMELY ENTERTAINING. I’d give him the highest recommendation for anyone who was looking for a DJ. So glad we snagged him for our event at the AC Hotel in Boston!
Omari was our DJ + MC for a small wedding this fall. He was both easy to work with and very professional! We spoke on the phone and via email a few times beforehand to lay out the scope of the event and what would be needed; he took a few complex requirements in stride (e.g. needing a mix of indoor / outdoor speakers and microphones, mixing two songs together for a special dance). On the day-of, he was responsive to our changing schedule, and did a great job handling announcements and moving folks from one space to another. He was very independent in setting up, which was great, because it freed us up to deal with other vendors with last-minute questions. Finally, the music selection was great, and folks of all ages ended up on the dance floor!
Omari was amazing as our wedding DJ! Everyone the next morning raved about the music all the way from my grandpa to my college age cousins. He really played for everyone which made the party so much more fun! He was also incredibly organized, professional, and reliable which is all we could have asked for during the wedding planning process. Omari was a great DJ to work with he really knows what heís doing and takes his career seriously but with a fun approach. We did a venue walkthrough before hand and we talked about the music that I wanted to be played. I sent him tons and tons of songs titles before the event and everything I asked him to play he played but what was also great was that he added his own choices that were even better and he really got the party started. I’m the CEO of a nonprofit organization in Somerville. We hired Omari Hayles to DJ at portions of our annual meeting and dinner, and annual celebration attended by over 200 people in Somerville. Omari was a complete pro to deal with, from contracting and scheduling all the way through delivering a terrific mix of music for our event. Omari was well organized and timely in engaging with us at the Somerville Armory through all the typically hectic period of setting up for such an event. I know Omari does a great job DJ’ing for private events as well, but I’d highly recommend him for a public event such as ours.

DJ Omari Hayles from Beat Train Productions was fantastic! He was easygoing, organized, and created the exact wedding ambiance we wanted – no easy feat considering we gave him a wide variety of music we wanted! He was on top of every moment and had the dance floor full all night – we actually had a few guests request the playlist! It was hard leaving the dance floor at the end of the night. Beat Train was also very flexible in rescheduling our date due to COVID-19 and we really appreciated that.

Omari was truly amazing throughout the entire process and made the whole thing go incredibly smooth. We selected Omari for our wedding and he knocked it out of the park! The guests never left the dance floor. I didn’t expect to get a chance to dance as much as the other guests because I had duties as the bride. The music was so good however, I literally couldn’t stay off the dance floor!! So much fun, amazing selections of songs, and fun transitions between them!
Omari from Beat Train was an awesome DJ who incorporated all the hits we asked for and avoided what we didn’t want to hear. His mixes kept our guests guessing and it was fun to see people wondering what he was going to play next. He worked with our photographer last minute to do a table dash so we could get a photo with each table, and he was the consummate professional in announcing toasts, reminding guests about our audio guest book, and more. People kept asking who our DJ was and our dance floor was packed from my dance with father to the moment our last song played. Beat Train is also helpful with planning before the day, using an online platform to keep track of the music requests, payment, and timing considerations for the wedding day.
